Claims

Abstract

A reactor includes an outer peripheral iron core and at least three iron-core coils that contact or are connected to an inner surface of the outer peripheral iron core. Each of the iron-core coils includes iron cores and coils wound onto the iron cores. The reactor further includes an external cooling unit disposed outside the outer peripheral iron core, to cool the outer peripheral iron core.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A reactor comprising:
 an outer peripheral iron core;   at least three iron-core coils contacting or connected to an inner surface of the outer peripheral iron core,   each of the iron-core coils including iron cores and coils wound onto the iron cores; and   an external cooling unit disposed outside the outer peripheral iron core, for cooling the outer peripheral iron core;   wherein the external cooling unit includes at least one fin formed on an outer peripheral surface of the outer peripheral iron core; and   wherein the external cooling unit further includes a jacket for enclosing the at least one fin.   
     
     
         2 . A reactor comprising:
 an outer peripheral iron core;   at least three iron-core coils contacting or connected to an inner surface of the outer peripheral iron core,   each of the iron-core coils including iron cores and coils wound onto the iron cores; and   an external cooling unit disposed outside the outer peripheral iron core, for cooling the outer peripheral iron core;   wherein the external cooling unit includes a fin housing for containing the outer peripheral iron core, and at least one fin is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the fin housing; and   wherein the external cooling unit further includes a jacket for enclosing the at least one fin.   
     
     
         3 . A reactor comprising:
 an outer peripheral iron core;   at least three iron-core coils contacting or connected to an inner surface of the outer peripheral iron core,   each of the iron-core coils including iron cores and coils wound onto the iron cores; and   an external cooling unit disposed outside the outer peripheral iron core, for cooling the outer peripheral iron core;   wherein the external cooling unit includes a cylinder made from a wound tube disposed around the outer peripheral iron core.   
     
     
         4 . A reactor comprising:
 an outer peripheral iron core;   at least three iron-core coils contacting or connected to an inner surface of the outer peripheral iron core,   each of the iron-core coils including iron cores and coils wound onto the iron cores; and   an external cooling unit disposed outside the outer peripheral iron core, for cooling the outer peripheral iron core;   wherein the external cooling unit further includes a jacket for enclosing the outer peripheral iron core; and   wherein a plurality of additional fins or a conduit are formed on an inner peripheral surface of the jacket.   
     
     
         5 . The reactor according to  claim 3 , wherein the external cooling unit includes at least one fin formed on an outer peripheral surface of the outer peripheral iron core. 
     
     
         6 . The reactor according to  claim 3 , wherein the external cooling unit includes a fin housing for containing the outer peripheral iron core, and at least one fin is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the fin housing. 
     
     
         7 . The reactor according to  claim 5 , wherein the external cooling unit further includes a jacket for enclosing the at least one fin. 
     
     
         8 . The reactor according to  claim 7 , wherein a conduit is formed on an inner peripheral surface of the jacket. 
     
     
         9 . The reactor according to  claim 1 , wherein the external cooling unit includes a cylinder made from a wound tube disposed around the outer peripheral iron core. 
     
     
         10 . The reactor according to  claim 7 , wherein the external cooling unit further includes a cooling fan disposed on at least one of an end face of the jacket and an outer peripheral surface of the jacket. 
     
     
         11 . The reactor according to  claim 1 , wherein the external cooling unit includes a housing for sealing the outer peripheral iron core, and a coolant is injected into the housing. 
     
     
         12 . The reactor according to  claim 11 , wherein
 an inlet and an outlet are formed in the housing, and   the coolant flows from the inlet inside the housing to the outlet.   
     
     
         13 . The reactor according to  claim 1 , wherein the number of the iron-core coils is an integer multiple of 3. 
     
     
         14 . The reactor according to  claim 1 , wherein the number of the iron-core coils is an even number of 4 or more. 
     
     
         15 . A motor driver comprising the reactor according to  claim 1 . 
     
     
         16 . A machine comprising the motor driver according to  claim 15 . 
     
     
         17 . A power conditioner comprising the reactor according to  claim 1 . 
     
     
         18 . A machine comprising the power conditioner according to  claim 17 .
