Abstract

A blender system with a shearing blade assembly is shown and described. The blender system may include a container and a shear blending assembly attached thereto. The shear blending assembly may include a cutting blade, a shearing blade, a shear mechanism, and bearings operably coupled with a blending base. The shearing blade may force foodstuff through apertures of the shearing mechanism. The foodstuff may be drawn through a cut path of the cutting blade. The cutting blade may cut the foodstuff.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A blade assembly for a blender system, comprising:
 a shear mechanism comprising at least one side wall defining an intake area, the side wall comprising a plurality of apertures, wherein a first end of the shear mechanism comprises an intake opening for receiving foodstuff within the intake area; a shearing blade at least partially disposed within the intake area, wherein at least one of the shearing blade or the shear mechanism is configured to rotate about an axis; and a cutting blade proximal to the intake opening.

         2 . The blade assembly of claim 1 , further comprising:
 a choke plate disposed on the shear mechanism proximal to the intake opening.

         3 . The blade assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a rotary shaft attachable to at least one of the cutting blade, shearing blade, or shear mechanism.

         4 . The blade assembly of claim 3 , wherein the cutting blade and shearing blade are attachable to a rotary shaft, wherein rotation of the rotary shaft rotates the cutting blade and the shearing blade.

         5 . The blade assembly of claim 1 , wherein the shearing blade and the cutting blade are monolithically formed.

         6 . The blade assembly of claim 1 , wherein a portion of the shearing blade comprises the cutting blade.

         7 . The blade assembly of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the cutting blade is disposed above the intake opening.

         8 . The blade assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cutting blade is disposed between a closed end of the shearing mechanism and substantially equal to or below an open end of the shearing mechanism.

         9 . The blade assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cutting blade comprises at least one wing, wherein the at least one wing is substantially level with a horizontal axis.

         10 . The blade assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cutting blade comprises at least one wing, wherein the at least one wing is substantially flat.

         11 . A blender system comprising:
 a blender container; a pump assembly comprising an inlet area and an outlet area, wherein the inlet area and the outlet area are disposed within the blender container; and a blade assembly disposed within the blender container, wherein the pump assembly is configured to draw foodstuff through a cut path of the blender container.

         12 . The blender system of claim 11 , further comprising:
 a blender base comprising a motor, the blender base configured for receiving the blender container.

         13 . The blender system of claim 12 , wherein the motor is configured for driving the blade assembly and the pump assembly.

         14 . The blender system of claim 12 , wherein the pump assembly comprises a plurality of wings configured to generate lift.

         15 . The blender system of claim 14 , wherein the plurality of wings are bent at compound angles.

         16 . A blender system comprising:
 a container comprising a first end and a second end;
 a shear mechanism positioned in the container, the shear mechanism comprising at least one side wall defining an intake area, the side wall comprising a plurality of apertures, wherein a first end of the shear mechanism comprises an intake opening for receiving foodstuff within the intake area;
 a shearing blade at least partially disposed within the intake area, wherein at least one of the shearing blade or the shear mechanism is configured to rotate about an axis; and
 a cutting blade proximal to the intake opening.

         17 . The blender system of claim 16 , further comprising:
 a choke plate disposed on the shear mechanism proximal to the intake opening.

         18 . The blender system of claim 16 , further comprising a rotary shaft attachable to at least one of the cutting blade, shearing blade, or shear mechanism.

         19 . The blender system of claim 18 , wherein the cutting blade and shearing blade are attachable to a rotary shaft, wherein rotation of the rotary shaft rotates the cutting blade and the shearing blade.

         20 . The blender system of claim 16 , wherein the cutting blade comprises at least one wing, wherein the at least one wing is substantially level with a horizontal axis.
