Speed Bump
Abstract
A speed bump section (10, 30, 50; 110, 130, 150) is provided for use in a modular speed bump. The speed bump section comprises an end configured to engage with another speed bump section. The end is one of (i) a male end (16, 36; 116, 136) having a first plurality of angled sides, and a male connector (20, 38; 120, 138) having a corresponding first plurality of angled sides; and (ii) a female end (18, 56; 118, 156) having a second plurality of angled sides configured to receive a said male end, and a female connector (22, 58; 122, 158) having a corresponding second plurality of angled sides configured to engage with a said male connector. A modular speed bump comprising a plurality of speed bump sections is also provided.

27 . A modular speed bump comprising:
a plurality of speed bump sections each comprising one or more apertures or channels running at least partially along a length of the speed bump section; and a support to which the plurality of speed bump sections are attachable, the support comprising one or more projections receivable within the one or more apertures or channels of the plurality of speed bump sections.
28 . The modular speed bump of claim 27 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels are elongate apertures or channels.
29 . The modular speed bump of claim 27 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels are provided in a surface of each of the speed bump sections.
30 . The modular speed bump of claim 29 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels are provided in a lower surface of each of the speed bump sections.
31 . The modular speed bump of claim 29 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels extend substantially perpendicularly into a surface of each of the speed bump sections.
32 . The modular speed bump of claim 27 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels are configured to receive and/or slidably engage with the support.
33 . The modular speed bump of claim 32 , wherein a cross-sectional profile of the one or more apertures corresponds to a cross-sectional profile of at least a part of the support.
34 . The modular speed bump of claim 27 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels are substantially L-shaped or substantially U-shaped.
35 . The modular speed bump of claim 27 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels are configured to retain the support.
36 . The modular speed bump of claim 27 , wherein the support is an elongate support.
37 . The modular speed bump of claim 27 , wherein the support is are substantially planar.
38 . The modular speed bump of claim 27 , wherein the one or more projections correspond in shape to the one or more apertures or channels.
39 . The modular speed bump of claim 27 , wherein the one or more projections are substantially L-shaped or substantially U-shaped.
40 . The speed bump section of claim 27 , wherein the one or more projections define one or more additional channels.
41 . The speed bump section of claim 27 , wherein the support is releasably securable to the speed bump sections, optionally with a nut and bolt.
42 . The modular speed bump of claim 27 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels of each speed bump section are configured to align with the one or more apertures or channels of adjacent speed bump sections in use.
43 . A speed bump section for use in a modular speed bump section, the speed bump section comprising:
one or more L-shaped or U-shaped apertures or channels running at least partially along a length of the speed bump section; wherein the one or more apertures or channels are provided in a lower surface of the speed bump section; and wherein the one or more apertures or channels are configured to receive a corresponding L-shaped or U-shaped projection of a support.
44 . The speed bump section of claim 43 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels are elongate apertures or channels
45 . The speed bump section of claim 43 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels are configured to slidably engage with the support.
46 . The speed bump section of claim 43 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels are configured to retain the support.
47 . The speed bump section of claim 43 , wherein the one or more apertures or channels extend substantially perpendicularly into the lower surface of the speed bump section.
48 . A speed bump section for use in a modular speed bump, the speed bump section comprising:
an end configured to engage with another speed bump section, the end being one of: (i) a male end having a first plurality of angled sides, and a male connector having a corresponding first plurality of angled sides; and (ii) a female end having a second plurality of angled sides configured to receive a said male end, and a female connector having a corresponding second plurality of angled sides configured to engage with a said male connector.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
