Abstract

In an example embodiment, a golf club shaft is disclosed that comprises: a grip portion and a central shaft. The central shaft comprises a plurality of holes capable of being removably filled by one or more weighted plugs. In various example embodiments, the weighted plugs may be any weight desirable to the golfer, and may be positioned at any location on the shaft where there is a hole to customize the weighting of the golf club. In such embodiments, the weighted plugs may be made of a high density material and may weigh above about 14 grams.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A weighted golf club shaft comprising a central shaft, the central shaft comprising a plurality of holes into which a plurality of plugs may be removably inserted;
 wherein at least one plug is removably inserted;   wherein at least one of the at least one plug is a weighted plug.   
     
     
         2 . The weighted golf club shaft of  claim 1 , further comprising the plurality of plugs including the weighted metal plug and a second plug, wherein the second plug weighs less than the weighted metal plug, and wherein the plurality of plugs are customizable within the plurality of holes to customize a center of gravity of the central shaft. 
     
     
         3 . The weighted golf club shaft of  claim 1 , wherein the weighted plug is comprised of a high density material. 
     
     
         4 . The weighted golf club shaft of  claim 3 , wherein the weighted plug is comprised of tungsten, titanium, stainless steel, cobalt, iron, or lead. 
     
     
         5 . The weighted golf club shaft of  claim 1 , wherein more than one weighted plugs are removably inserted into the plurality of holes. 
     
     
         6 . The weighted golf club shaft of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of holes are located on a first plane of the golf club shaft. 
     
     
         7 . The weighted golf club shaft of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of holes are located on a first plane of the golf club shaft and on a second plane of the golf club shaft wherein the second plane is offset by an angle from the first plane. 
     
     
         8 . The weighted golf club shaft of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of holes exist in a plurality of rows along the central shaft. 
     
     
         9 . The weighted golf club shaft of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of plugs are paired. 
     
     
         10 . The weighted golf club shaft of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of plugs are in a sequence of threes on an X and Y plane. 
     
     
         11 . The weighted golf club shaft of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of plugs comprises weighted and non-weighted plugs. 
     
     
         12 . The weighted golf club shaft of  claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of holes is filled with a plug selected from a group consisting of: the weighted plug and a non-weighted plug. 
     
     
         13 . A method of using a weighted golf club shaft comprising:
 determining a green speed of a golf course; and   adjusting one or more weighted plugs to a location on the weighted golf club shaft based on the green speed;   the weighted golf club shaft comprising a central shaft, the central shaft comprising a plurality of holes into which a plurality of plugs may be removably inserted and wherein at least one of the at least one plug is a weighted metal plug.   
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 13 , further comprising consulting a reference table to determine the location on the weighted golf club shaft to removably insert the weighted plug based on the reference table and the green speed of the golf course. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 13 , further comprising customizing the plurality of plugs, the plurality of plugs including the weighted metal plug and a second plug, wherein the second plug weighs less than the weighted metal plug, and wherein the plurality of plugs are customized within the plurality of holes to customize a center of gravity of the central shaft. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein a plurality of weighted plugs are used, and a weight of a first plug of the plurality of weighted plugs differs from a weight of a second plug of the plurality of weighted plugs. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein more than one weighted plugs are removably inserted into the plurality of holes. 
     
     
         18 . The method  claim 13 , wherein the plurality of holes exist in a plurality of rows along the central shaft. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein the plurality of plugs are paired. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein the plurality of plugs are in a sequence of threes on an X and Y plane.
