Abstract
A dual seat valve assembly includes a first valve and a concentric second valve which together form a tight seal valve assembly. The valves open and close sequentially. A quick disconnect rupture disc assembly may be used in conjunction with the valve assembly to provide a required safety feature for testing high pressure fluid ruptures that include a dump valve.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 - 9 . (canceled)
10 . A dual seat valve assembly comprising:
a first and second front housing member comprising an interior, wherein the interior of the first housing member comprises a bore comprising a first valve seat surrounded by an annular ring member, wherein the annular ring member comprises a second valve seat; a central housing member; a hydraulic actuating assembly, wherein the hydraulic actuating assembly comprises fluid inlets and outlets to allow for an in-take and removal of pressurized water within the hydraulic actuating assembly; a piston wherein the in-take and removal of pressurized water within the hydraulic actuating system axially moves the piston; and a rupture disc assembly.
11 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 1 , wherein the annular ring is secured to the interior of the first housing by a retainer ring, wherein the retainer ring comprises a beveled section.
12 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 1 , wherein the hydraulic actuating assembly and a space plate are secured to the central housing.
13 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a hollow sleeve member, wherein the hollow sleeve member comprises an aperture and is threadably attached to the piston.
14 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 13 , wherein a front surface of the hollow sleeve member is configured to engage the second valve seat.
15 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 13 , further comprising a plunger that extends through the aperture and is configured with a frusto-conical valve surface to engage the first valve seat.
16 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 15 , wherein a plurality of springs is disposed between the plunger and the piston to normally bias a flange of the plunger to an inner surface of the hollow sleeve member.
17 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 16 , wherein the hollow sleeve member, the piston, the plurality of springs, and the plunger move axially with respect to each other.
18 . The dual valve assembly of claim 17 , wherein the axial movement is capable of engaging or disengaging the plunger to or from the first valve seat.
19 . The dual valve assembly of claim 17 , wherein the axial movement is capable of engaging or disengaging the hollow sleeve member to or from the second valve seat.
20 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 10 , wherein the interior of the second front housing member comprises a chamber.
21 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 20 , wherein the interior of the second front housing member further comprises an outlet passageway to allow fluid to exit the chamber.
22 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 20 , wherein the bore of the first front housing member is connected to the chamber to allow fluid to enter the chamber.
23 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 10 , wherein the second front housing member comprises an inlet leading to a passageway disposed within the interiors of the first and second front housing members.
24 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 23 , wherein the passageway connects the inlet of the second front housing member to the bore of the first front housing member.
25 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 10 , wherein the rupture disc assembly is disposed on a top portion the second front housing member.
26 . The dual seat valve assembly of claim 10 , wherein the rupture disc assembly comprises a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet to allow for fluid to move through the second front housing member to the rupture disc assembly.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
