Dental devices and systems and methods for making the same

Abstract

Dental devices and systems and methods for making dental devices are described herein. In some embodiments, denture base material may be adapted to fit a model of a patient's mouth, and a pre-set arch of denture teeth may be adjusted the model. The pre-set arch may be impressed into the denture base material to create a channel. In some embodiments, the cure may be a partial cure and/or a releasing agent may be used such that the pre-set arch may be removed, if needed for further adjustments, after assessing the fit of the denture device. If the fit is correct, another cure may be performed to finish the denture device. If the fit is incorrect, a new bite registration and/or adjustments to the denture base material and/or pre-set arch of denture teeth may be made.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An arch device for a denture, comprising:
 a denture base comprised of a denture base material;   a channel formed along an occlusal surface of the denture base; and   a pre-set arch of denture teeth that sits in a channel formed along an occlusal surface of the denture base, wherein the pre-set arch of denture teeth has an amount of denture base material applied thereto.   
     
     
         2 . The arch device of  claim 1 , wherein the amount denture base material is applied to at least one of a buccal portion and a labial portion of the pre-set arch of denture teeth. 
     
     
         3 . The arch device of  claim 1 , wherein the arch device comprises one of an upper arch device and a lower arch device. 
     
     
         4 . The arch device of  claim 1 , wherein the denture base material comprises at least one of a light cure and an auto-polymerizing material. 
     
     
         5 . The arch device of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a bonding agent applied to a denture base portion of the pre-set arch of denture teeth to couple the pre-set arch of denture teeth to the denture base.   
     
     
         6 . The arch device of  claim 5 , wherein the bonding agent comprises methyl methacrylate monomer. 
     
     
         7 . The arch device of  claim 1 , wherein the denture base is applied to a model of a patient's mouth prior to the channel being formed. 
     
     
         8 . The arch device of  claim 1 , wherein the pre-set arch of denture teeth is moldable when subjected to heat exceeding a first temperature. 
     
     
         9 . The arch device of  claim 8 , wherein at least one of an arch width, occlusal planes, and the amount of base material of the pre-set arch of denture teeth are adjusted to fit a model of the patient's mouth prior to the pre-set arch of denture teeth being applied to the denture base. 
     
     
         10 . The arch device of  claim 1 , wherein the pre-set arch of denture teeth comprises one of:
 a partial set of denture teeth; and   a full set of denture teeth.
