Abstract

A battery includes a first insulator, a first electrode layer, and a first counter-electrode layer. The first counter-electrode layer is a counter electrode for the first electrode layer. The first insulator includes a first electrolyte portion, a second electrolyte portion, and a first bent portion. The first bent portion is positioned between the first electrolyte portion and the second electrolyte portion. The first electrode layer is disposed in contact with the first electrolyte portion. The first counter-electrode layer is disposed in contact with the second electrolyte portion. The first insulator is bent at the first bent portion, and thereby the first electrode layer and the first counter-electrode layer are positioned facing each other.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A battery comprising:
 a first insulator;   a first electrode layer;   a second electrode layer; and   a first counter-electrode layer,   wherein the first counter-electrode layer is a counter electrode for the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer,   wherein the first insulator includes
 a first electrolyte portion, 
 a second electrolyte portion, and 
 a first bent portion, 
   wherein the first bent portion is positioned between the first electrolyte portion and the second electrolyte portion,   wherein the first electrode layer is disposed in contact with the first electrolyte portion,   wherein the first counter-electrode layer is disposed in contact with a first surface of the second electrolyte portion,   wherein the second electrode layer is disposed in contact with a second surface of the second electrolyte portion, and   wherein the first insulator is bent at the first bent portion, and thereby the first electrode layer and the first counter-electrode layer are positioned facing each other.   
     
     
         2 . The battery according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the first bent portion includes a first protruding portion that protrudes beyond the second electrolyte portion toward a side on which the second electrode layer is disposed.   
     
     
         3 . The battery according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a first current collector,   wherein the first current collector is disposed between the first electrode layer and the first counter-electrode layer and in contact with the first electrode layer and the first counter-electrode layer.   
     
     
         4 . The battery according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the first insulator includes
 a third electrolyte portion, and 
 a second bent portion, 
   wherein the second bent portion is positioned between the second electrolyte portion and the third electrolyte portion, and   wherein the first insulator is bent at the second bent portion, and thereby the second electrolyte portion and the third electrolyte portion are positioned facing each other.   
     
     
         5 . The battery according to  claim 4 ,
 wherein the first bent portion includes a first protruding portion that protrudes beyond the second electrolyte portion toward a side on which the second electrode layer is disposed, and   the first protruding portion protrudes to a position on which the third electrolyte portion is disposed.   
     
     
         6 . The battery according to  claim 4 ,
 wherein the second bent portion includes a second protruding portion that protrudes beyond the second electrolyte portion toward a side on which the first counter-electrode layer is disposed.   
     
     
         7 . The battery according to  claim 6 ,
 wherein the second protruding portion protrudes to a position on which the first electrolyte portion is disposed.   
     
     
         8 . The battery according to  claim 4 , further comprising:
 a second counter-electrode layer,   wherein the second counter-electrode layer is a counter electrode for the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer,   wherein the second counter-electrode layer is disposed in contact with a first surface of the third electrolyte portion, and   wherein the first insulator is bent at the second bent portion, and thereby the second electrode layer and the second counter-electrode layer are positioned facing each other.   
     
     
         9 . The battery according to  claim 8 , further comprising:
 a second current collector,   wherein the second current collector is disposed between the second electrode layer and the second counter-electrode layer and in contact with the second electrode layer and the second counter-electrode layer.   
     
     
         10 . The battery according to  claim 8 , further comprising:
 a third electrode layer,   wherein the third electrode layer is disposed in contact with a second surface of the third electrolyte portion.   
     
     
         11 . The battery according to  claim 10 ,
 wherein the second bent portion includes a second protruding portion that protrudes beyond the third electrolyte portion toward a side on which the third electrode layer is disposed.   
     
     
         12 . The battery according to  claim 10 ,
 wherein the first insulator includes
 a fourth electrolyte portion, and 
 a third bent portion, 
   wherein the third bent portion is positioned between the third electrolyte portion and the fourth electrolyte portion,   wherein the first insulator is bent at the third bent portion, and thereby the third electrolyte portion and the fourth electrolyte portion are positioned facing each other.   
     
     
         13 . The battery according to  claim 12 ,
 wherein the second bent portion includes
 a second protruding portion that protrudes beyond the third electrolyte portion toward a side on which the third electrode layer is disposed, and 
   wherein the second protruding portion protrudes to a position on which the fourth electrolyte portion is disposed.   
     
     
         14 . The battery according to  claim 12 ,
 wherein the third bent portion includes a third protruding portion that protrudes beyond the third electrolyte portion toward a side on which the second counter-electrode layer is disposed.   
     
     
         15 . The battery according to  claim 14 ,
 wherein the third protruding portion protrudes to a position on which the second electrolyte portion is disposed.   
     
     
         16 . The battery according to  claim 12 , further comprising:
 a third counter-electrode layer,   wherein the third counter-electrode layer is a counter electrode for the first electrode layer, the second electrode layer, and the third electrode layer,   wherein the third counter-electrode layer is disposed in contact with the fourth electrolyte portion, and   wherein the first insulator is bent at the third bent portion, and thereby the third electrode layer and the third counter-electrode layer are positioned facing each other.   
     
     
         17 . The battery according to  claim 16 , further comprising:
 a third current collector,   wherein the third current collector is disposed between the third electrode layer and the third counter-electrode layer and in contact with the third electrode layer and the third counter-electrode layer.
