Abstract

The present application relates toa variant Fc region comprising at least one modification relative to a wild-type human Fc region, where the modification selected from the group consisting of 434S, 252Y/428L, 252Y/434S, and 428L/434S, and the numbering is according to the EU index.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
We claim:

1 . A recombinant anti-C5 antibody comprising an Fc variant of a human IgG Fc polypeptide, wherein said Fc variant comprises 428L/434S, and wherein the numbering is according to the EU index.

2 . The recombinant anti-C5 antibody according to claim 1 , wherein said antibody is selected from the group consisting of a chimeric antibody, a humanized antibody, or a human antibody.

3 . The recombinant anti-C5 antibody according to claims 1 - 2 , wherein the recombinant antibody has an increased in vivo half-life as compared to said parent IgG Fc polypeptide.

4 . A method of producing a recombinant anti-C5 antibody according to any one of claims 1 to 3 , said method comprising providing a cell comprising a nucleic acid encoding said antibody, wherein said cell is cultured under conditions suitable for expression of said antibody.

5 . A method according to claim 4 , wherein said nucleic acid is contained in an expression vector.

6 . A host cell comprising a nucleic acid encoding the recombinant anti-C5 antibody according to any one of claims 1 to 3 .

7 . An expression vector, wherein said expression vector encodes a recombinant anti-C5 antibody according to any one of claims 1 to 3 .
