Abstract
A display device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present system and method includes a substrate; a display active layer disposed on the substrate, the display active layer including a plurality of pixels that are configured to display a first color, a second color, and a third color, respectively, and a touch sensing layer disposed on the display active layer. The touch sensing layer includes first touch electrodes and second touch electrodes, which are separated from each other, and gaps between the first touch electrodes and the second touch electrodes. The gaps are formed to expose first color pixels configured to display the first color and non-pixel areas.

1 . A display device comprising:
a substrate; a display active layer disposed over the substrate and including pixels; a base layer disposed over the display active layer; and a touch sensing layer disposed over the base layer and including touch electrodes and openings in which the touch electrodes are not disposed in a plan view, wherein the openings include an opening surrounding at least two pixels in the plan view.
2 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the at least two pixels include at least two green pixels.
3 . The display device of claim 2 , wherein the at least two green pixels are directly adjacent to each other without any other pixels therebetween.
4 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the at least two pixels include at least two green pixels, at least one red pixel, and at least one blue pixel.
5 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the opening overlaps a non-pixel area between the adjacent two pixels in the plan view.
6 . The display device of claim 5 , wherein the adjacent two pixels include a green pixel and a red or a blue pixel.
7 . The display device of claim 6 , wherein the pixels include red pixels, blue pixels, and green pixels, and each of the green pixels is smaller than each of the blue pixels.
8 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the touch electrodes are formed in a same layer.
9 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the base layer is a thin film encapsulating layer.
10 . A display device comprising:
a substrate; a display active layer disposed over the substrate and including pixels, the pixels including red pixels, green pixels, and blue pixels; and a touch sensing layer disposed over the display active layer and including touch electrodes and openings in which the touch electrodes are not disposed in a plan view, wherein the openings include an opening overlapping at least two green pixels in the plan view.
11 . The display device of claim 10 , wherein the at least two green pixels are directly adjacent to each other without any other pixels therebetween.
12 . The display device of claim 10 , wherein the opening further overlaps at least one red pixel and at least one blue pixel in the plan view.
13 . The display device of claim 10 , wherein the opening further overlaps a non-pixel area between the adjacent two pixels in the plan view.
14 . The display device of claim 13 , wherein the adjacent two pixels include one green pixel and one red or blue pixel.
15 . The display device of claim 10 , wherein each green pixel is smaller than each of the blue pixels.
16 . The display device of claim 10 , wherein the touch electrodes are formed in a same layer.
17 . The display device of claim 10 , wherein each pixel includes a pixel electrode, a common electrode, and an emission layer between the pixel electrode and the common electrode.
