Abstract
A planter box allows interchangeable tiles to be removed and replaced for different occasions. An embodiment allows decorative tiles to be attached and removed from the planter box without sacrificing the quality or functionality of the planter box. Tiles may be swapped in or out for holidays, sporting events, or any number of occasions. Tiles may be personalized for weddings or big events and easily attached to a planter box and removed at the conclusion of the events.

1 . A decorative planter box comprising:
one or more sidewalls; a plurality of side portions; wherein the plurality of side portions, and the one or more sidewalls define one or more recessed areas each recessed area having a perimeter dimension and a depth profile and wherein each recessed area is partially defined by least one sidewall comprising at least one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet; one or more tiles, each tile comprising;
a perimeter dimension that is less than the perimeter dimensions of at least one recessed area;
a depth profile that is less than or equal to the depth profile of the least one recessed area;
at least one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet; and
wherein the tile is conformal with the at least one recessed area and wherein the at least one recessed area is configured to receive the tile for removable attachment by magnetic attraction to the at least one sidewall partially defining the at least one recessed area.
2 . The decorative planter box of claim 1 , a receptacle configured to house a plant and comprising the one or more sidewalls.
3 . The decorative planter box of claim 2 , wherein the receptacle comprises a cellular PVC material.
4 . The decorative planter box of claim 2 , further comprising a frame configured to receive the receptacle through an opening at a top side and comprising;
one or more top rails formed by one or more top side portions of the plurality of side portions; one or more bottom rails formed by one or more bottom side portions the plurality of side portions; and a plurality of posts formed by one or more lateral side portions of the plurality of side portions.
5 . The decorative planer box of claim 1 , further comprising a frame wherein the frame comprises the plurality of side portions and the one or more sidewalls.
6 . The decorative planter box of claim 5 further comprising a receptacle disposed inside the frame and wherein the receptacle is configured to house a plant.
7 . The decorative planter box of claim 6 , wherein the receptacle comprises cellular PVC.
8 . The decorative planter box of claim 1 , wherein one or more side portions of the plurality of side portions comprise one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet and are configured to receive one or more finals for removable attachment by magnetic attraction, each finial, comprising one of a ferromagnetic material and at least one magnet.
9 . The decorative planter box of claim 1 , wherein at least one tile of the one or more tiles comprises aluminum.
10 . The decorative planter box of claim 1 , wherein at least one tile of the one or more tiles comprise a cellular PVC material.
11 . The decorative planter box of claim 1 , further comprising a receptacle configured to house a plant and formed by the plurality of side portions and the plurality of sidewalls.
12 . The decorative planter box of claim 11 , wherein the receptacle comprises a molded material.
13 . The decorative planter box of claim 12 , wherein the receptacle comprises polyresin material.
14 . The decorative planter box of claim 11 , wherein the receptacle comprises cellular PVC material.
15 . The decorative planter box of claim 1 , wherein the one or more tiles comprise at least one magnet.
16 . The decorative planter box of claim 1 , wherein the one or more of tiles comprise a ferromagnetic material.
17 . The decorative planter box of claim 1 , wherein the one or more sidewalls comprises at least one magnet.
18 . The decorative planter box of claim 1 , wherein the one or more sidewalls comprise a ferromagnetic material.
19 . A decorative planter box comprising:
a receptacle configured to house a plant and comprising a plurality of sidewalls wherein at least one magnet is embedded in each sidewall a frame configured to receive the receptacle through an opening at a top side and comprising;
a plurality of posts;
at least one top rail;
at least one bottom rail; and
wherein the at least one top rail, the at least one bottom rail, the plurality of posts, and the plurality of sidewalls define a plurality of recessed areas when the receptacle is received in the frame, each recessed area being partially defined by at least one sidewall and having a perimeter dimension and a depth profile;
a plurality of tiles, each tile comprising;
a perimeter dimension that is less than the perimeter dimension of at least one recessed area;
a depth profile that is less than or equal to the depth profile of the least one recessed area;
a ferromagnetic material; and
wherein the tile is conformal with the at least one recessed area and wherein the at least one recessed area is configured to receive the tile for removable attachment by magnetic attraction to the at least one sidewall partially defining the at least one recessed area.
20 . A decorative planter box comprising:
a receptacle configured to house a plant and comprising a plurality of sidewalls wherein each sidewall comprises a ferromagnetic material; a frame configured to receive the receptacle through an opening at a top side and comprising;
a plurality of posts;
at least one top rail;
at least one bottom rail; and
wherein the at least one top rail, the at least one bottom rail, the plurality of posts, and the plurality of sidewalls define a plurality of recessed areas when the receptacle is received in the frame, each recessed area being partially defined by at least one sidewall and having a perimeter dimension and a depth profile;
a plurality of tiles, each tile comprising;
a perimeter dimension that is less than the perimeter dimension of at least one recessed area;
a depth profile that is less than or equal to the depth profile of the least one recessed area;
at least one magnet; and
