Abstract
Technologies are shown for intervehicle communication involving notification messages sent from one vehicle to another vehicle. Sensor event data from one vehicle can be sent in a wireless message to another vehicle and information from the wireless message displayed to a driver of the other vehicle providing the driver with information that may not be detectable by the sensors in the driver's vehicle. Inquiries or requests can also be sent from one vehicle to another vehicle. User interfaces can include graphical user interfaces, haptic devices and audio devices.

1 . A computer-implemented vehicle communication method, the method comprising:
receiving, in a first vehicle, a first wireless notification from a device located in a second vehicle, the first wireless notification corresponding to a vehicle sensor event detected by one or more proximity sensors in the second vehicle; converting the first wireless notification to a representation of the vehicle sensor event; and graphically displaying the representation of the vehicle sensor event on a user interface within the first vehicle.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes a representation of the second vehicle.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the first wireless notification indicates a position of the second vehicle and the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes the position of the second vehicle relative to the first vehicle.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the first wireless notification includes positional information relative to the second vehicle for an object detected by the one or more proximity sensors in the second vehicle of the vehicle sensor event.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes a representation of the object of the vehicle sensor event relative to the second vehicle.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the first wireless notification includes an indication of a type of the object of the vehicle sensor event and the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes a representation of the type of the object of the vehicle sensor event.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the first wireless notification includes one or more of a position, distance, speed or direction of the second vehicle and one or more of a position, distance, speed or direction of the object relative to the second vehicle and the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes one or more of the position, distance, speed or direction of the second vehicle and one or more of the position, distance, speed or direction of the object relative to the second vehicle.
8 . A vehicle communication system, the system comprising:
one or more processors; and at least one computer storage medium having computer executable instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to: receive, in a first vehicle, a first wireless notification from a device located in a second vehicle, the first wireless notification corresponding to a vehicle sensor event detected by one or more proximity sensors in the second vehicle; convert the first wireless notification to a representation of the vehicle sensor event; and graphically display the representation of the vehicle sensor event on a user interface within the first vehicle.
9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes a representation of the second vehicle.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the first wireless notification indicates a position of the second vehicle and the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes the position of the second vehicle relative to the first vehicle.
11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the first wireless notification includes positional information relative to the second vehicle for an object detected by the one or more proximity sensors in the second vehicle of the vehicle sensor event.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes a representation of the object of the vehicle sensor event relative to the second vehicle.
13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the first wireless notification includes an indication of a type of the object of the vehicle sensor event and the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes a representation of the type of the object of the vehicle sensor event.
14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the first wireless notification includes one or more of a position, distance, speed or direction of the second vehicle and one or more of a position, distance, speed or direction of the object relative to the second vehicle and the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes one or more of the position, distance, speed or direction of the second vehicle and one or more of the position, distance, speed or direction of the object relative to the second vehicle.
15 . A computer storage medium having computer executable instructions stored thereon which, when executed by one or more processors, cause the processors to execute a vehicle communication method comprising:
receiving, in a first vehicle, a first wireless notification from a device located in a second vehicle, the first wireless notification corresponding to a vehicle sensor event detected by one or more proximity sensors in the second vehicle; converting the first wireless notification to a representation of the vehicle sensor event; and graphically displaying the representation of the vehicle sensor event on a user interface within the first vehicle.
16 . The computer storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes a representation of the second vehicle.
17 . The computer storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the first wireless notification indicates a position of the second vehicle and the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes the position of the second vehicle relative to the first vehicle.
18 . The computer storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the first wireless notification includes positional information relative to the second vehicle for an object detected by the one or more proximity sensors in the second vehicle of the vehicle sensor event.
19 . The computer storage medium of claim 18 , wherein the representation of the vehicle sensor event includes a representation of the object of the vehicle sensor event relative to the second vehicle.
20 .
