Abstract

The guidance and positioning device may be a system for creating a passage in tissue, positioning fasteners or other implants, and tensioning an elongated fastening member, like a suture, thread, wire, or pin. In some embodiments, the device may allow for the implantation of multiple sutures and fasteners in tissue. A fastener may be positioned at the distal end of a flexible pushrod. The fastener may be connected with the pushrod or may be loosely fitted with the distal end of the pushrod. A suture may be looped through or connected with the fastener such that one, two, or more sections, legs, strands, or portions of the suture extend from the fastener.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 30 . (canceled)

         31 . A system comprising:
an implant including at least one sensor; an anchor; and at least one suture including at least one limb, wherein the anchor is configured to stabilize the implant to body tissue of a patient.

32 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the at least one limb of suture is configured to extend from the anchor.

33 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the anchor is hollow, comprises fibers of a polymeric material, and is configured to deform from a first configuration to a second configuration to secure the anchor when the at least one limb of the suture is tensioned relative to the body tissue.

34 . The system of claim 33 , wherein the suture is configured to slide through the anchor under tension when the anchor is in the first configuration and the second configuration

35 . The system of claim 33 , wherein the suture is configured to secure the implant to the body tissue.

36 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the anchor is knotless.

37 . The system of claim 31 , further comprising the implant having at least one of a computer chip, emitter, and radiofrequency identification tag.

         38 . A system comprising:
an implant including at least one radiofrequency device; an anchor; and at least one suture including at least one limb, wherein the anchor is configured to stabilize the implant to body tissue of a patient.

39 . The system of claim 38 , wherein the at least one limb of suture is configured to extend from the anchor.

40 . The system of claim 38 , wherein the anchor is hollow, comprised of fibers of a polymeric material, and is configured to deform from a first configuration to a second configuration to secure the anchor when the at least one limb of the suture is tensioned relative to the body tissue.

41 . The system of claim 30 , wherein the suture is configured to slide through the anchor under tension when the anchor is in the first configuration and the second configuration

42 . The system of claim 30 , wherein the suture is configured to secure the implant to the body tissue.

43 . The system of claim 38 , wherein the anchor is knotless.

44 . The system of claim 38 , further comprising the implant having at least one of a sensor, computer chip, and emitter.

         45 . A system comprising:
an electronic medical implant including a sensor and computer chip, wherein the electronic medical implant is configured to at least one of transmit and receive a radiofrequency communication; an anchor; and at least one suture including at least one limb, wherein the anchor is configured to stabilize the electronic medical implant to body tissue of a patient.

46 . The system of claim 45 , wherein the at least one limb of the suture is configured to extend from the anchor.

47 . The system of claim 45 , wherein the anchor is hollow, comprises fibers of a polymeric material, and is configured to deform from a first configuration to a second configuration to secure the anchor when the at least one limb of the suture is tensioned relative to the body tissue.

48 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the suture is configured to slide through the anchor under tension when the anchor is in the first configuration and the second configuration

49 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the suture is configured to secure the implant to the body tissue.

50 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the anchor is knotless.
