Abstract
There is provided an image coding apparatus including: circuitry configured to set a correspondence relationship between resolution information and an enhancement layer, in a case where the number of the layers is greater than the number of multiple candidates for the resolution information on a layer of an image; and code the image and generate a bitstream including information relating to the set correspondence relationship.

circuitry configured to:
set a number of resolution information on a layer of an image which is transmitted previously;
set, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is greater than 1 , information indicating whether or not a correspondence relationship between the resolution information and an enhancement layer of the image is present, the information being transmitted after the number of the resolution information;
not transmit, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is 1 , the information indicating whether or not the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer is present; and
encode the image and generate a bitstream including the number of resolution information and the information relating to the correspondence relationship.
2 . The image encoding apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the circuitry is further configured to set the correspondence relationship in a case where the set information indicates the correspondence relationship is present.
3 . The image encoding apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein in a case where the number of the resolution information is 1 , updating of the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer is prohibited in a sequence parameter set.

The image encoding apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein in a case where the number of the resolution information is greater than a number of enhancement layers of the image, the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer is set, beginning with a leading candidate.
5 . The image encoding apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein in a case where multiple resolution information are present, the information is set that indicates whether or not the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer is present.
6 . An image encoding method comprising:
setting a number of resolution information on a layer of an image which is transmitted previously; setting, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is greater than 1, information, indicating whether or not a correspondence relationship between the resolution information and an enhancement layer is present, the information being transmitted after the number of the resolution information; not transmitting, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is 1, the information indicating whether or not the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer is present; and encoding the image and generating a bitstream including the number of resolution information and the information relating to the correspondence relationship.
7 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium having embodied thereon a program, which when executed by a computer causes the computer to execute an image encoding method, the method comprising:
setting a number of resolution information on a layer of an image which is transmitted previously; setting, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is greater than 1, information indicating whether or not a correspondence relationship between the resolution information and an enhancement layer is present, the information being transmitted after the number of the resolution information; not transmitting, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is 1, the information indicating whether or not the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer is present; and encoding the image and generating a bitstream including the number of resolution information and the information relating to the correspondence relationship.
8 . An image encoding apparatus comprising:
a setting unit configured to
set a number of resolution information on a layer of an image which is transmitted previously,
set, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is greater than 1, information indicating whether or not a correspondence relationship between the resolution information and an enhancement layer is present, the information being transmitted after the number of the resolution information, and
not transmit, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is 1, the information indicating whether or not the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer is present; and
an encoding unit configured to encode the image and generate a bitstream including the number of resolution information and the information relating to the correspondence relationship, wherein the setting unit and the encoding unit are each implemented via at least one processor.
9 . The image encoding apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein in a case where the set information indicates the correspondence relationship is present, the setting unit sets the correspondence relationship.
10 . The image encoding apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein in a case where the number of the resolution information is 1, the setting unit prohibits updating of the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer in a sequence parameter set.
11 . The image encoding apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein in a case where the number of the resolution information is greater than a number of enhancement layers of the image, the setting unit sets the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer, beginning with a leading candidate.
12 . The image encoding apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein in a case where multiple resolution information are present, the setting unit sets information that indicates whether or not the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer is present.
13 . An image encoding apparatus comprising:
circuitry configured to:
set a number of resolution information on a layer of an image which is transmitted previously;
set, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is greater than 1, information indicating whether or not a correspondence relationship between the resolution information and an enhancement layer is present, the information being transmitted after the number of the resolution information;
not transmit, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is 1 , the information indicating whether or not the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer is present;
automatically map the layer and the resolution information onto each other; and
encode the image and generate a bitstream including the number of resolution information and the information relating to the correspondence relationship.
14 . An image encoding apparatus comprising:
circuitry configured to:
set a number of resolution information on a layer of an image which is transmitted previously;
set, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is greater than 1, information indicating whether or not a correspondence relationship between the resolution information and an enhancement layer is present, the information being transmitted after the number of the resolution information;
not transmit, in a case where the set number of the resolution information is 1, the information indicating whether or not the correspondence relationship between the resolution information and the enhancement layer is present; and
encode the image and generate a bitstream including the number of resolution information and the information relating to the correspondence relationship,
