Abstract

In an embodiment, a computer system performs a method of modifying a decision algorithm, such as an algorithm for assigning credit limits or other credit terms, via a graphical user interface. The system displays a graphical representation of a decision tree comprising a plurality of decision nodes. The decision nodes are associated with respective conditions, and at least a portion of the decision nodes are associated with an outcome to be assigned to an individual matching the associated respective conditions in accordance with the decision tree. The system receives a selection of a decision node and selects a parameter to be used to construct subnodes of the selected decision node, and constructs the subnodes. The system calculates an outcome for each subnode, and it updates the graphical representation of the decision tree to include the plurality of subnodes.

         2 . A method of modifying a credit terms decision algorithm via a graphical user interface, the method comprising:
 displaying, via a display device, a graphical representation of a decision tree comprising a plurality of decision nodes, the decision nodes being associated with respective conditions relating to an individual's credit risk, at least a portion of the decision nodes being associated with a credit limit to be assigned to an individual matching the associated respective conditions in accordance with the decision tree;   receiving a selection of a decision node;   selecting, by a computer processor, a credit information parameter to be used to construct a plurality of subnodes of the selected decision node, the parameter being selected based at least in part on an optimization algorithm and a selected variable to be optimized;   constructing, by the computer processor, the plurality of subnodes, each subnode being associated with a condition relating to the credit information parameter;   calculating credit terms for each subnode, based at least in part on a second optimization algorithm; and   updating the graphical representation of the decision tree to include the plurality of subnodes, each subnode being associated with respective calculated credit terms.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the credit terms include one or more of a credit limit, an interest rate, or a penalty rate.

The method of  claim 2 , wherein the graphical representation of the decision tree includes representations of each of the decision nodes, the representations including credit terms associated with respective decision nodes for the portion of the decision nodes that are associated with credit terms 
     
     
         5 . A computer system configured to maintain a user-defined, automatically-executable process flow, the computer system comprising:
 one or more computer processors;   a computer-readable memory having stored thereon a plurality of executable instructions configured to be executed on the one or more computer processors to perform operations comprising:   obtaining information describing process steps included in a user-defined process flow, with one or more of the process steps being associated with a respective decision tree usable to determine information associated with a consumer based on inputs describing parameters of the consumer;   receiving data indicating a particular process step is to be monitored;   executing the particular process step and maintaining monitoring data associated with the particular process step;   receiving data indicating a modification to the particular process step, the modification including a modification to the monitoring data;   reconfiguring the monitoring data in response to the data indicating the modification, wherein the monitoring data is maintained without deletion throughout the reconfiguration; and   modifying the data relating to the plurality of process steps based on the data indicating the modification.   
     
     
         6 . The computer system of  claim 5 , wherein the data indicating the modification to the particular process step is received from an external computer in communication with the computer system via a network. 
     
     
         7 . The computer system of  claim 5 , wherein reconfiguring the monitoring data comprises enabling a monitoring data storage device to receive data records in a different format than the monitoring data, without altering the monitoring data. 
     
     
         8 . The computer system of  claim 5 , wherein the operations further comprise executing the plurality of process steps in response to receiving a request for information relating to a consumer. 
     
     
         9 . The computer system of  claim 5 , wherein the particular process step is associated with a decision tree comprising a plurality of nodes including one or more decision nodes and, for each decision node, one or more leaf nodes of the decision node, wherein each decision node is associated with respective parameters of consumers, and each leaf node of a decision node is associated with an output for respective values of the parameters of consumers associated with the decision node. 
     
     
         10 . The computer system of  claim 9 , wherein the monitoring data associated with the particular process step includes data describing respective consumers and outputs of leaf nodes for the respective consumers.
