Abstract

Fibers based on poly(vinyl alcohol) is composed of a poly(vinyl alcohol) polymer and a phyllosilicate. The fibers contain 30 to 400 parts by mass of the phyllosilicate per 100 parts by mass of the poly(vinyl alcohol) polymer. The fibers have a swelling degree of 200 to 600%.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . Fibers based on poly(vinyl alcohol), comprising:
a poly(vinyl alcohol) polymer and a phyllosilicate, wherein the fibers from 30 to 400 parts by mass of the phyllosilicate per 100 parts by mass of the poly(vinyl alcohol) polymer, and the fibers have a fiber swelling degree of from 200 to 600%.

         2 . The fibers based on poly(vinyl alcohol) of claim 1 ,
wherein the phyllosilicate is a smectite clay compound.

         3 . The fibers based on poly(vinyl alcohol) of claim 2 ,
 wherein the phyllosilicate is bentonite.

         4 . The fibers based on poly(vinyl alcohol) of claim 1 ,
wherein the phyllosilicate has an average particle size of from 0.1 to 100 μm.

         5 . A fiber structure, comprising:
the fibers based on poly(vinyl alcohol) of claim 1 .

6 . The fiber structure of claim 5 , wherein the fiber structure is an adsorbent that adsorbs an adsorbate in a treatment solution.

7 . The fiber structure of claim 6 , wherein the adsorbate is caffeine.
