Abstract

An anti-oxidative, energy-boosting, and anti-aging nutraceutical composition containing fullerene substituted with functional groups, a medium chain triglyceride (preferably black seed oil), and the composition optionally includes one or more energy molecules not bound to the fullerene. Preferred functional groups and energy molecules include beta-hydroxybutyrate (more preferably D-beta-hydroxybutyrate) and carboxylic acids (e.g., caprylic acid and/or capric acid).

1 . A nutraceutical composition, comprising a fullerene molecule substituted with a beta-hydroxybutyrate group. 
     
     
         2 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 1 , wherein the beta-hydroxybutyrate group is D-beta-hydroxybutyrate. 
     
     
         3 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 1 , wherein the substituted fullerene molecule is further substituted with a carboxylic acid. 
     
     
         4 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 3 , wherein the carboxylic acid is caprylic acid. 
     
     
         5 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 3 , wherein the carboxylic acid is capric acid 
     
     
         6 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 1 , wherein the substituted fullerene molecule is further substituted with two different carboxylic acids. 
     
     
         7 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 6 , wherein the two carboxylic acids are caprylic acid and capric acid. 
     
     
         8 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 1 , wherein the fullerene molecule is C60. 
     
     
         9 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 1 , further comprising a medium chain triglyceride. 
     
     
         10 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 9 , further comprising a COX-2 inhibitor. 
     
     
         11 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 10 , wherein the COX-2 inhibitor is thymoquinone. 
     
     
         12 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 1 , further comprising black seed oil. 
     
     
         13 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 12 , further comprising sunflower seed oil. 
     
     
         14 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 12 , further comprising lecithin. 
     
     
         15 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 12 , further comprising beta-hydroxybutyrate molecules not bound to the fullerene molecule. 
     
     
         16 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 15 , further comprising carboxylic acid molecules not bound to the fullerene molecule.

         21 . The nutraceutical composition in  claim 8 , wherein C60 is saturated with substituted beta-hydroxybutyrate groups.
