Location-based verification for predicting user trustworthiness
Abstract
A computer-implemented system and method is provided for computing and displaying a location-based trustworthiness score for a user. The location-based trustworthiness scored is determined based on at least location-based verification of time-location data from one or more transactions involving the user. Time-location data for the transaction is compared with time-location data associated with the user to determine a location-compliance level. The location-compliance level is used to calculate the location-based trustworthiness score for the user. The location-based trustworthiness score is transferred to one or more computing devices associated with one or more additional users for display.

21 . A method for computing a location-based trustworthiness score for a user, the method comprising:
receiving and storing, by a server, a set of transaction data for a transaction between a first user and a second user, wherein the first user desires to share a subject having a value with the second user, and wherein the set of transaction data comprises at least a first set of time-location data for the transaction; during performance of the transaction, automatically and periodically receiving and storing by the server, from one or more respective computing devices associated with the first user and/or the second user, at least a portion of a second set of time-location data; comparing, by the server, at least a portion of the first set and the second set of time-location data to determine a location-compliance level; calculating, by the server, a respective location-based trustworthiness score for the first user and/or the second user based on at least the determined location-compliance level; and transferring, by the server, at least a portion of data related to the respective calculated location-based trustworthiness score of the first user and/or the second user configured to be displayed on one or more computing devices associated with one or more additional users.
22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the subject of the transaction comprises sharing at least one of: a service, a good, or a space.
23 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the value of the subject may be either a monetary value or a non-monetary value.
24 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
upon completion of the transaction, providing, by the server, a rating system for the first user and the second user to rate or review each other based on the completed transaction.
25 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
providing a forum to enable a plurality of users to exchange information regarding one or more subjects shared; and providing a rating system for the plurality of users to rate or review one another based on one or more completed prior transactions.
26 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
providing an online platform for establishing regular and/or business connections between two or more users; and providing a search mechanism for verifying connections or prior transactions between the two or more users.
27 . The method of claim 26 , further comprising:
storing, by the server, one or more connections between the two or more users, the one or more connections including at least one of: a social connection, a connection from a prior transaction, and/or a business connection from a prior financial sharing, wherein the one or more stored connections for a user are used in calculating a location-based trustworthiness score for the user.
28 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
enabling one of two or more users to initiate and submit an offer of invitation; and enabling one or more other of the two or more users to review the offer of invitation and either: (1) make a counteroffer containing different terms; or (2) reject the offer of invitation.
29 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
enabling a user to link to one or more third-party social networking accounts; retrieving, by the server, data from the one or more linked third-party social networking accounts; and verifying, by the server, at least one of: user identification, demographic data, or geographic location using the data retrieved from the one or more linked third-party social networking accounts.
30 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the location-based trustworthiness score is displayed using one or more indicators, wherein the one or more indicators represent various trustworthiness factors or risk levels.
31 . A system for computing a location-based trustworthiness score for a user, the system comprising:
a communication interface; a processor coupled with the communication interface; and a computer-readable storage medium, coupled with the processor, comprising instructions that are executable by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to:
receive and store a set of transaction data for a transaction between a first user and a second user, wherein the first user desires to share a subject having a value with the second user, and wherein the set of transaction data comprises at least a first set of time-location data for the transaction;
during performance of the transaction, automatically and periodically receive from one or more respective computing devices associated with the first user and/or the second user and store, at least a portion of a second set of time-location data;
compare at least a portion of the first set and the second set of time-location data to determine a location-compliance level;
calculate a respective location-based trustworthiness score for the first user and/or the second user based on at least the determined location-compliance level; and
transfer at least a portion of data related to the respective calculated location-based trustworthiness score of the first user and/or the second user to one or more computing devices associated with one or more additional users.
32 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the subject of the transaction comprises sharing at least one of: a service, a good, or a space.
33 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the value of the subject may be either a monetary value or a non-monetary value.
34 . The system of claim 31 , further comprising instructions that are executable by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to:
upon completion of the transaction, provide a rating system for the first user and the second user to rate or review each other based on the completed transaction.
35 . The system of claim 31 , further comprising instructions that are executable by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to:
provide a forum to enable a plurality of users to exchange information regarding one or more subjects shared; and provide a rating system for the plurality of users to rate or review one another based on one or more completed prior transactions.
36 . The system of claim 31 , further comprising instructions that are executable by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to:
provide an online platform for establishing regular and/or business connections between two or more users; and provide a search mechanism for verifying connections or prior transactions between the two or more users.
37 . The system of claim 36 , further comprising instructions that are executable by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to:
store one or more connections between the two or more users, the one or more connections including at least one of: a social connection, a connection from a prior transaction, and/or a business connection from a prior financial sharing, wherein the one or more stored connections for a user are used in calculating a location-based trustworthiness score for the user.
38 . The system of claim 31 , further comprising instructions that are executable by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to:
enable one of two or more users to initiate and submit an offer of invitation; and enable one or more other of the two or more users to review the offer of invitation and either: (1) make a counteroffer containing different terms; or (2) reject the offer of invitation.
39 . The system of claim 31 , further comprising instructions that are executable by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to:
