Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
.- 57 . (canceled)

. A method for treating a squamous cell carcinoma in a subject, the method comprising: administering to said subject a Retinoid X Receptor (RXR) agonist in combination with a Retinoic Acid Receptor (RAR) agonist, thereby treating said squamous cell carcinoma in said subject.

. The method of claim 58 , wherein said squamous cell carcinoma is head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).

. The method of claim 58 , wherein said squamous cell carcinoma is oral cancer.

. The method of claim 58 , wherein said squamous cell carcinoma is oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma or locally advanced malignant squamous cell carcinoma.

. The method of claim 58 , wherein said administration of said RXR agonist in combination with said RAR agonist reduces the number of cancer stem cells in oral cavity.

. The method of claim 58 , wherein said administration is an oral administration.

. The method of claim 63 , wherein said administration is by oral rinse.

. The method of claim 58 , wherein said administration is intravenous or subcutaneous administration.

. The method of claim 58 , wherein said administration is a co-administration of said RXR agonist and said RAR agonist.

. The method of claim 58 , wherein said administration comprises an independent administration of RXR agonist and said RAR agonist.

. The method of claim 58 , wherein said squamous cell carcinoma is caused by tobacco, cigar smoking, alcohol, virus, carcinogen, irradiation, or a combination thereof.

. A composition comprising a Retinoid X Receptor (RXR) agonist and a Retinoic Acid Receptor (RAR) agonist, both present in an amount effective to treat a squamous cell carcinoma in a subject.

. The composition of claim 69 , wherein said squamous cell carcinoma is head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).

. The composition of claim 69 , wherein said squamous cell carcinoma is oral cancer.

. The composition of claim 69 , wherein said squamous cell carcinoma is oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma or locally advanced malignant squamous cell carcinoma.

. The composition of claim 69 , wherein said composition is effective to reduce the number of cancer stem cells in oral cavity.

. The composition of claim 69 , wherein said composition is suitable for oral administration.

. The composition of claim 74 , wherein said administration is by oral rinse.

. The composition of claim 69 , wherein said composition is suitable for intravenous or subcutaneous administration.

. The composition of claim 69 , wherein said squamous cell carcinoma is caused by tobacco, cigar smoking, alcohol, virus, carcinogen, irradiation, or a combination thereof.
