Abstract

A disposable absorbent article is disclosed that includes a first waist region, a second waist region, a crotch region disposed between the first waist region and second waist region, a waist edge in the first waist region, at least one waistband in the first waist region adjacent the waist edge, at least one fastener in the second waist region, and a waist assembly in the first waist region, wherein the waist assembly has a Corrugation Regularity greater than about 75%.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An absorbent article comprising:
 a first waist region, a second waist region, and a crotch region disposed between the first and second waist regions;   a first waist edge, a second waist edge, a first longitudinal side edge; and a second longitudinal edge;   a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet;   a leg gasketing system extending from the first waist region to the second waist region;   a first waistband connected with the chassis and positioned in the first waist region, wherein the first waistband comprises an elastomeric film; and   wherein the first waistband comprises a Corrugation Regularity great than about 75%.   
     
     
         2 . The absorbent article of  claim 1 , wherein the first waistband further comprises a nonwoven. 
     
     
         3 . The absorbent article of  claim 1 , wherein the first waistband is positioned within 20 mm of the first waist edge. 
     
     
         4 . The absorbent article of  claim 1 , wherein the first waistband is positioned coterminous with the first waist edge. 
     
     
         5 . The absorbent article of  claim 1 , wherein the chassis comprises a body-facing surface and a garment-facing surface; and wherein the first waistband is connected with the body facing surface of the chassis. 
     
     
         6 . The absorbent article of  claim 1 , further comprising a second waistband connected with the chassis and positioned in the second waist region. 
     
     
         7 . The absorbent article of  claim 6 , wherein the second waistband comprises an elastomeric film. 
     
     
         8 . The absorbent article of  claim 7 , wherein the second waistband comprises a nonwoven. 
     
     
         9 . The absorbent article of  claim 6 , wherein the second waistband is positioned coterminous with the second waist edge. 
     
     
         10 . The absorbent article of  claim 6 , wherein the second waistband is positioned within 20 mm of the second waist edge. 
     
     
         11 . The absorbent article of  claim 6 , wherein the second waistband is connected to the chassis with mechanical bonds. 
     
     
         12 . The absorbent article of  claim 11 , wherein the second waistband is connected to the chassis with adhesive. 
     
     
         13 . The absorbent article of  claim 6 , wherein the second waistband is connected with the leg gasketing system. 
     
     
         14 . The absorbent article of  claim 13 , wherein the second waistband is connected with the leg gasketing system. 
     
     
         15 . The absorbent article of  claim 14 , wherein the second waistband is connected with the leg gasketing system and the chassis with adhesive. 
     
     
         16 . The absorbent article of  claim 15 , wherein the second waistband is connected with the leg gasketing system and the chassis with mechanical bonds. 
     
     
         17 . The absorbent article of  claim 14 , wherein the first waistband is connected with the leg gasketing system. 
     
     
         18 . The absorbent article of  claim 17 , wherein the first waistband is connected with the leg gasketing system and the chassis with adhesive. 
     
     
         19 . The absorbent article of  claim 18 , wherein the first waistband is connected with the leg gasketing system and the chassis with mechanical bonds. 
     
     
         20 . The absorbent article of  claim 1 , wherein the first waist region comprises a rear waist region.
