Electronic Voucher Ticket System

Abstract

A voucher ticket system employing a bill validator installed into any suitable automated machine, including an Automated Teller Machine (ATM), a gaming machine, etc. The bill validator is integrated with a bill reader, a voucher ticket reader, a reader to obtain an electronic voucher ticket from a portable computing device, a printer, and any other supporting peripheral devices. The bill validator communicates with an electronic money account manager through a voucher ticket system interface. The electronic money account manager maintains records associated with the electronic voucher ticket using a master voucher ticket ID, including a financial value, an electronic marker, an expiration, a status, etc. The electronic money account manager enables use of the electronic voucher ticket as common currency at an associated gaming facility, any associated ATM, etc. The electronic marker defines authenticity to maintain integrity of the electronic vouchers tickets.

         21 . An electronic voucher ticket system server, comprising:
 at least one communication interface configured to communicate with an electronic gaming machine, a mobile device, and a ticketing server; and   at least one processing unit configured to:
 receive a request to tender a payment from a mobile wallet account for an electronic voucher ticket; 
 decrement a first amount from the mobile wallet account for the payment; 
 communicate with the ticketing server to create the electronic voucher ticket associated with a second amount; and 
 provide the electronic voucher ticket. 
   
     
     
         22 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 21 , wherein the request is received from the mobile device. 
     
     
         23 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 21 , wherein the request is received from the electronic gaming machine. 
     
     
         24 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 21 , wherein the electronic voucher ticket is used to apply a credit to the electronic gaming machine. 
     
     
         25 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 21 , wherein the first amount and the second amount are different amounts of currency. 
     
     
         26 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 21 , wherein the first amount is different from the second amount. 
     
     
         27 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 21 , wherein the first amount and the second amount are equal. 
     
     
         28 . An electronic voucher ticket system server, comprising:
 at least one communication interface configured to communicate with an electronic gaming machine, a mobile device, and a ticketing server; and   at least one processing unit configured to:
 receive a request to redeem an electronic voucher ticket associated with a first amount to a mobile wallet account; 
 communicate with the ticketing server to redeem the electronic voucher ticket; and 
 increment the mobile wallet account by a second amount. 
   
     
     
         29 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 28 , wherein the request is related to a cash-out event at the electronic gaming machine. 
     
     
         30 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 28 , wherein the at least one processing unit communicates with the ticketing server to determine whether the electronic voucher ticket is valid. 
     
     
         31 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 28 , wherein the electronic voucher ticket includes a ticket identifier and an indicator of the first amount. 
     
     
         32 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 31 , wherein the ticketing server stores the ticket identifier associated with the first amount. 
     
     
         33 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 28 , wherein the second amount is derived from the first amount. 
     
     
         34 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 28 , wherein the at least one processing unit communicates with the ticketing server to notify the ticketing server that the electronic voucher ticket is redeemed. 
     
     
         35 . An electronic voucher ticket system server, comprising:
 at least one communication interface configured to communicate with an electronic gaming machine, a mobile device, and a ticketing server; and   at least one processing unit configured to:
 receive a request to redeem an electronic voucher ticket associated with a first amount to apply a credit to the electronic gaming machine; 
 communicate with the ticketing server to redeem the electronic voucher ticket; and 
 apply the credit of a second amount to the electronic gaming machine. 
   
     
     
         36 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 35 , wherein the at least one processing unit communicates with the ticketing server to retrieve the electronic voucher ticket. 
     
     
         37 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 35 , wherein the at least one processing unit applies the credit by communicating with a payment accepting device communicably coupled to the electronic gaming machine. 
     
     
         38 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 35 , wherein the electronic voucher ticket includes a ticket identifier and an indicator of the first amount. 
     
     
         39 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 38 , wherein the ticketing server stores the ticket identifier associated with the first amount. 
     
     
         40 . The electronic voucher ticket system server of  claim 35 , wherein the at least one processing unit communicates with the ticketing server to determine whether the electronic voucher ticket is valid.
