Claims

Abstract

A control method and control apparatus for determining a relative location of a mobile terminal with respect to a display apparatus by using short range wireless communication. A method of controlling a display apparatus including a plurality of short range wireless communication modules, the method includes: performing short range wireless communication with a mobile terminal through a short range wireless communication module included in the display apparatus; identifying the short range wireless communication module performing the short range wireless communication with the mobile terminal from among the plurality of short range wireless communication modules; determining a relative location of the mobile terminal with respect to the display apparatus according to the result of identifying; and determining a location on a screen of the display apparatus to display data according to the relative location and displaying the data on the screen of the display apparatus according to the determined location.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of transmitting data by a mobile terminal, the method comprising:
 transmitting information about a list of data stored in the mobile terminal to a display apparatus;   receiving information requesting to transmit at least one piece of data from among the list of the data stored in the mobile terminal to another mobile terminal from the display apparatus;   establishing a communication linkage with the other mobile terminal; and   transmitting the at least one piece of data to the other mobile terminal by using the communication linkage.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the transmitting of the information about the list of the data to the display apparatus comprises:
 performing short range wireless communication with the display apparatus comprises through a short range wireless communication module included in the mobile terminal;   receiving network information from the display apparatus via the short range wireless communication;   establishing another communication linkage with the display apparatus via a communication method other than the short range wireless communication by using the network information; and   transmitting the information about the list of the data stored in the mobile terminal to the display apparatus by using the other communication linkage.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the information about the list of data comprises at least one of a list of contents stored in the mobile terminal, or a list of applications installed in the mobile terminal. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the information about the list of the data further comprises additional information about the data in the list of the data,
 and the additional information comprises at least one of meta data, a thumbnail image of the data in the list of the data, or an execution icon about an application included in the list of the data.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the information requesting to transmit the at least one piece of data to the other mobile terminal comprises information for the mobile terminal to establish the communication linkage with the other mobile terminal. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the information for the mobile terminal to establish the communication linkage with the other mobile terminal comprises
 at least one of information about a communication method supportable by the other mobile terminal, IP information for connecting to the other mobile terminal, information for connecting to the other mobile terminal via a Wi-Fi direct method, or information for performing pairing via a Bluetooth communication method.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the information requesting to transmit the at least one piece of data to the other mobile terminal comprises
 information for selecting the at least one piece of data from among the list of the data stored in the mobile terminal.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising
 transmitting, to the display apparatus, information about a transmission state of the at least one piece of data to the other mobile terminal. 
 
     
     
         9 . A method of controlling a display apparatus, the method comprising:
 receiving information about a list of data stored in a mobile terminal from the mobile terminal;   displaying the list of the data stored in the mobile terminal;   receiving a user input for selecting at least one piece of data from among the displayed list of the data; and   transmitting, to the mobile terminal, information requesting to transmit the at least one piece of data to another mobile terminal based on the user input.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the receiving of the information about the list of the data from the mobile terminal comprises:
 performing short range wireless communication with the mobile terminal through a short range wireless communication module included in the display apparatus;   transmitting network information to the mobile terminal via the short range wireless communication;   establishing another communication linkage with the mobile terminal via a communication method other than the short range wireless communication by using the network information; and   receiving the information about the list of the data stored in the mobile terminal by using the other communication linkage.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 9  further comprising:
 identifying a short range wireless communication module performing a short range wireless communication with the mobile terminal from among a plurality of short range wireless communication modules included in the display apparatus; 
 determining a relative location of the mobile terminal with respect to the display apparatus according to the result of identifying; and 
 determining a location on a screen of the display apparatus to display the list of the data according to the relative location of the mobile terminal. 
 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the receiving of the user input for selecting the at least one piece of data comprises
 receiving a touch input of selecting one piece of data from among the displayed list of the data and dragging the one piece of data to a location of the other mobile terminal on a screen of the display apparatus.   
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 9  further comprising
 receiving, from the mobile terminal, information about a transmission state of the at least one piece of data from the mobile terminal to the other mobile terminal; and 
 displaying the information about the transmission state of the at least one piece of data on a screen of the display apparatus. 
 
     
     
         14 . A mobile terminal comprising:
 a data transceiver for transmitting information about a list of data stored in the mobile terminal to a display apparatus, and receiving information requesting to transmit at least one piece of data from among the list of the data stored in the mobile terminal to another mobile terminal from the display apparatus; and   at least one processor for establishing a communication linkage with the other mobile terminal,   wherein the at least one processor is further configured to control the data transceiver to transmit the at least one piece of data to the other mobile terminal by using the communication linkage.   
     
     
         15 . The mobile terminal of  claim 14  further comprising
 a short range wireless communication unit for performing short range wireless communication with the display apparatus and receiving network information from the display apparatus, and 
 wherein the at least one processor is further configured to establish another communication linkage with the display apparatus via a communication method other than the short range wireless communication by using the network information, and to control the data transceiver to transmit the information about the list of the data stored in the mobile terminal to the display apparatus by using the other communication linkage. 
 
     
     
         16 . The mobile terminal of  claim 14 , wherein the information about the list of the data comprises at least one of a list of contents stored in the mobile terminal, or a list of applications installed in the mobile terminal, and
 wherein the information about the list of data further comprises additional information about the data in the list of the data, and the additional information comprises at least one of meta data, a thumbnail image of the data in the list of the data, or an execution icon about an application included in the list of the data.   
     
     
         17 . The mobile terminal of  claim 14 , wherein the information requesting to transmit the at least one piece of data to the other mobile terminal comprises information for the mobile terminal to establish the communication linkage with the other mobile terminal, and
 wherein the information for the mobile terminal to establish the communication linkage with the other mobile terminal comprises   at least one of information about a communication method supportable by the other mobile terminal, IP information for connecting to the other mobile terminal, information for connecting to the other mobile terminal via a Wi-Fi direct method, or information for performing pairing via a Bluetooth communication method.   
     
     
         18 . A display apparatus comprising:
 a data transceiver for receiving information about a list of data stored in a mobile terminal from the mobile terminal;   a touch screen for displaying the list of the data stored in the mobile terminal, and receiving a user input for selecting at least one piece of data from among the displayed list of the data; and   at least one processor for controlling the data transceiver to transmit, to the mobile terminal, information requesting to transmit the at least one piece of data to another mobile terminal based on the user input.   
     
     
         19 . The display apparatus of  claim 18  further comprising:
 a plurality of short range wireless communication modules which are respectively able to perform a short range wireless communication with the mobile terminal, and 
 wherein the at least one processor is further configured to 
 identify a short range wireless communication module performing a short range wireless communication with the mobile terminal from among the plurality of short range wireless communication modules; 
 determine a relative location of the mobile terminal with respect to the display apparatus according to the result of identifying; and 
 determine a location on the touch screen of the display apparatus to display the list of the data according to the relative location of the mobile terminal. 
 
     
     
         20 . A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium having recorded thereon a program for executing the method of  claim 1 . 
     
     
         21 . A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium having recorded thereon a program for executing the method of  claim 9 .
