Abstract
An absorbent core structure for disposable absorbent articles. The absorbent core having improved fluid handling properties. The absorbent core includes a first layer, a layer of absorbent polymer material, a layer of adhesive, and a second layer. The first layer has a first surface, a second surface, and a thickness of 0.4 mm to 1.5 mm.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 .- 24 . (canceled)
25 . A disposable absorbent article comprising:
a topsheet; a backsheet; an acquisition layer disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet; and an absorbent core disposed between the acquisition layer and the backsheet, wherein the absorbent core comprises a cover layer having a cover layer first surface and an opposing cover layer second surface; an absorbent polymer material layer having an absorbent polymer material layer first surface and an opposing absorbent polymer material layer second surface; an adhesive layer having an adhesive layer first surface and an opposing adhesive layer second surface; and a substrate layer having a substrate layer first surface and an opposing substrate layer second surface, wherein the absorbent polymer material layer is disposed between the adhesive layer and the substrate layer, wherein the substrate layer comprises a mixture of cellulose and synthetic fibers, wherein the cellulose fibers are present in an amount of from between about 50 percent to about 95 percent by weight.
26 . The disposable absorbent article of claim 25 , wherein the substrate layer has a basis weight of from between about 10 gsm to about 120 gsm.
27 . The disposable absorbent article of claim 25 , wherein the substrate layer has from between about 60 percent to about 90 percent by weight of cellulose fibers.
28 . The disposable absorbent article of claim 25 , wherein the acquisition layer comprises a carded nonwoven material.
29 . The disposable absorbent article of claim 27 , wherein the acquisition layer has a basis weight of between about 10 gsm to about 60 gsm.
30 . The disposable absorbent article of claim 27 , wherein the acquisition layer is thermally bonded.
31 . The disposable absorbent article of claim 25 , wherein the acquisition layer comprises synthetic fibers.
32 . The disposable absorbent article of claim 31 , wherein the synthetic fibers comprise polyethylene terephthalate.
33 . The disposable absorbent article of claim 25 , wherein the substrate layer is latex bonded.
34 . The disposable absorbent article of claim 25 , wherein the substrate layer comprises bicomponent fibers.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
