Abstract

A method and a device for terminal device management based on right control are provided. The method includes the following steps. A Get command on an access control list (ACL) of a managed node in a device management tree (DMT) from a device management (DM) server is received, where the Get command includes a Unified Resource Identity (URI) of the managed node. It is determined whether the DM server has a direct right of executing the Get command on the managed node. The Get command is processed when it is determined that the DM server has the direct right of executing the Get command on the managed node. The method and the device simplify the complexity of right management, and reduce the number of times of message interaction between the DM server and a terminal device, thereby improving the efficiency and performance of terminal device management.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method for replacing a value of a leaf node on a device management tree (DMT), the method comprising:
receiving, by a terminal, a command from a device management (DM) server for replacing the value of the leaf node on the DMT, with the command comprising a new value of the leaf node; determining, by the terminal, an ancestor node that is at least one level of hierarchy above the leaf node on the DMT, wherein the ancestor node has an access control list (ACL) indicating that the DM server has an authority to replace the ACL of the ancestor node; and replacing, by the terminal, the value of the leaf node with the new value without replacing the ACL of the leaf node in response to determining the ancestor node has an ACL indicating the DM server has authority to replace the ACL of the ancestor node.

2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the command carries a unified resource identity (URI) of the leaf node.

3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein a replace item in a value of the ACL of the ancestor node comprises an identifier of the DM server.

4 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the ancestor node is a parent node of the leaf node.

5 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein a replace item in a value of the ACL of the ancestor node comprises an identifier of the DM server.

6 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising sending, by the terminal, a success status to the DM server after the replacing completes.

         7 . A terminal device comprising:
a memory, a receiver and a processor, wherein the memory is configured to store a device management tree (DMT) of the terminal device; the receiver and the processor are configured cooperate to provide at least the following operations:
 receive a command from a device management (DM) server for replacing a value of a leaf node on the DMT, wherein the command comprises a new value of the leaf node;
determine an ancestor node that is at least one level of hierarchy above the leaf node on the DMT, wherein the ancestor node has an access control list (ACL) indicating that the DM server has an authority to replace the ACL of the ancestor node; and
replace the value of the leaf node with the new value without replacing the ACL of the leaf node in response to determining the ancestor node has an ACL indicating the DM server has authority to replace the ACL of the ancestor node.

8 . The terminal according to claim 7 , wherein the command carries a unified resource identity (URI) of the leaf node.

9 . The terminal according to claim 7 , wherein a replace item in a value of the ACL of the ancestor node comprises an identifier of the DM server.

10 . The terminal according to claim 7 , wherein the ancestor node is a parent node of the leaf node.

11 . The terminal according to claim 7 , wherein a replace item in a value of the ACL of the ancestor node comprises an identifier of the DM server.

12 . The terminal according to claim 7 , further comprising a sender configured to send a success status to the DM server after the replacing completes.

13 . A method for replacing a value of a leaf node on a device management tree (DMT) of a terminal, the method comprising:
sending, by a device management (DM) server, a command for replacing the value of the leaf node on the DMT to the terminal, wherein the command comprises a new value of the leaf node; determining, by the terminal, an ancestor node that is at least one level of hierarchy above the leaf node on the DMT, wherein the ancestor node has an access control list (ACL) indicating the DM server has an authority to replace the ACL of the ancestor node; and replacing, by the terminal, the value of the leaf node with the new value without replacing the ACL of the leaf node in response to determining the ancestor node has an ACL indicating the DM server has authority to replace the ACL of the ancestor node.

14 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the command carries a unified resource identity (URI) of the leaf node.

15 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein a replace item in a value of the ACL of the ancestor node comprises an identifier of the DM server.

16 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the ancestor node is a parent node of the leaf node.

17 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein a replace item in a value of the ACL of the ancestor node comprises an identifier of the DM server.

18 . The method according to claim 13 , further comprising sending, by the terminal, a success status to the DM server after the replacing completes.
