Claims

Abstract

To provide a light-emitting element having high luminous efficiency and to provide a light-emitting device and an electronic device which consumes low power and is driven at low voltage, a carbazole derivative represented by the general formula (1) is provided. In the formula, α1, α2, α3, and α1 each represent an azylene stoup having less than or equal to 13 carbon atoms; Ar1 and Ar2 each represent an aryl group having less than or equal to 13 carbon atoms; R1 represents any of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl group; and R2 represents any of an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl group. In addition, l, m, and n are each independently 0 or 1.

         2 . A light-emitting element comprising:
 an anode;   an insulator on the anode;
 a cathode having a transmitting property over the insulator; 
   a light-emitting layer between the anode and the cathode;   a first layer between the anode and the light-emitting layer; and   a second layer between the light-emitting layer and the cathode,   wherein:   the anode comprises indium and tin,
 the insulator covers an end portion of the anode, 
   the cathode comprises magnesium, silver and ytterbium,
 the first layer comprises an acceptor and a compound represented by a general formula (1), and 
   
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         
           
             wherein:
 α 1 , α 2 , α 3 , and α 4  each represent an arylene group having less than or equal to 13 carbon atoms,

             R 1  represents any of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl group, 
             R 2  represents any of an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl group, and 
             l, m, and n are each independently 0 or 1, 
           
           the second layer comprises a metal complex.

         8 . A light-emitting device further comprising:
 a plastic substrate;   a transistor over the plastic substrate; and   a flexible printed circuit attached with the light-emitting device,   wherein:   the light-emitting element according to  claim 2  is provided over the transistor,   the transistor comprises a crystalline semiconductor film, and   the acceptor is an organic compound having a cyano group and a fluorine.   
     
     
         9 . A display device comprising the light-emitting device according to  claim 8 .
