Cosmetic holder system

Abstract

A cosmetic storage system includes a cosmetic holder and a stand. The cosmetic holder has at least one cosmetic cartridge configured to receive a first standard cosmetic having an elongated shape, and a main body configured to hold the at least one cosmetic cartridge. The main body has a base having at least one depression configured to receive the at least one cosmetic cartridge therein, and at least one locking mechanism disposed adjacent to the at least on depression that selectively locks the cartridge within the depression. A cap is disposed on the main body and has at least one aperture to allow the cosmetic cartridge and the standard cosmetic to pass therethrough. The stand includes at least one cosmetic tray receiving device configured to removably receive a cosmetic tray within the base.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A cosmetic storage system comprising:
 a cosmetic holder comprising:
 at least one cosmetic cartridge having an opening configured to receive a first standard cosmetic having an elongated shape, 
 a main body configured to hold the at least one cosmetic cartridge, the main body comprising:
 a base having at least one depression configured to receive the at least one cosmetic cartridge therein, and 
 at least one locking mechanism disposed adjacent to the at least on depression that selectively locks the cartridge within the depression, 
 
 a cap disposed on the main body, the cap comprising at least one aperture configured to allow the cosmetic cartridge and the standard cosmetic to pass therethrough; and 
   a modular base comprising:
 at least one modular component comprising a cutout configured to receive a second standard cosmetic, the second standard cosmetic having a tray container, the cosmetic holder being configured to removably attach to a top of the modular base. 
   
     
     
         2 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 1 , wherein the at least on cosmetic cartridge comprises a lower groove that interfaces with the at least on locking mechanism to selectively lock the cartridge within the depression. 
     
     
         3 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 1 , wherein the cosmetic cartridge is cylindrical. 
     
     
         4 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one cosmetic cartridge comprises an upper magnet and the at least one depression comprises a corresponding lower magnet to removably hold the at least one cosmetic cartridge within the depression. 
     
     
         5 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 1  wherein the cosmetic holder comprises a selector tube configured to extend through the at least one aperture and over the first standard cosmetic, the selector tube interfacing with the cartridge in a friction fit to remove the cartridge with the first standard cosmetic when the locking mechanism is unlocked. 
     
     
         6 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 2 , wherein the main body comprises an outer case disposed around the base and movable relative to the base to at least one predetermined position, the outer case comprising a pressable button which when pressed interfaces with the at least one locking mechanism to unlock the locking mechanism from the lower groove; 
     
     
         7 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 1 , wherein the locking mechanism is a lever configured to rotate about a pin. 
     
     
         8 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 7 , wherein the lever comprises a downward projection and extends outward from the main body, the button being configured to actuate the downward projection to move the lever. 
     
     
         9 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 8 , wherein the locking mechanism further comprises a biasing spring, the biasing spring configured to bias the downward projection towards an outer surface of the base, and to rotate the lever into a locked position within the lower groove. 
     
     
         10 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 1 , wherein the first standard cosmetic comprises one of a lipstick, lip gloss, lip balm, pencil, brush, mascara, foundation, or liner. 
     
     
         11 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one modular component comprises at least one projection on a top surface, the at least one projection interfacing with the cosmetic holder. 
     
     
         12 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one modular component comprises a conical frustum shape. 
     
     
         13 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 1 , wherein the cosmetic holder comprises a cylindrical shape and the modular base comprises a conical frustum shape. 
     
     
         14 . A cosmetic storage system comprising:
 a cosmetic holder comprising:
 at least one cosmetic cartridge having an opening configured to receive a first standard cosmetic having an elongated shape, 
 a main body configured to hold the at least one cosmetic cartridge, the main body comprising:
 a base having at least one depression configured to receive the at least one cosmetic cartridge therein, and 
 at least one locking mechanism disposed adjacent to the at least on depression that selectively locks the cartridge within the depression, 
 
 a cap disposed on the main body, the cap comprising at least one aperture configured to allow the cosmetic cartridge and the standard cosmetic to pass therethrough; and 
   a stand comprising:
 at least one cosmetic tray receiving device configured to removably receive a cosmetic tray within the stand. 
   
     
     
         15 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 14 , wherein the main body further comprises an ejection system that ejects the cosmetic cartridge from the depression when the locking mechanism unlocks the cartridge. 
     
     
         16 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 15 , wherein the ejection system comprises a conical spring disposed within the depression. 
     
     
         17 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 14 , wherein the stand has an annular shape and comprises a top surface, a bottom surface and a wall connecting the top surface and the bottom surface, the wall having a cutout allowing access to the cosmetic tray. 
     
     
         18 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 17 , wherein the cutout extends more than half-way around the annular shape of the stand. 
     
     
         19 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 17 , wherein the stand further comprises windows to facilitate pushing the cosmetic tray out of the cutout. 
     
     
         20 . The cosmetic storage system of  claim 17 , wherein the annular shape is a truncated cone shape.
