Claims

Abstract

A barre apparatus having two vertically orientated structures. An upper bar attached by an upper bracket to the vertically orientated structures at approximately chest height and a first distance away from the vertically orientated structures. A middle bar attached by a middle bracket the vertically orientated structures at approximately waist height at a second distance away from the vertical structures. A lower bar attached by a lower bracket to the vertically orientated structures at approximately lower leg height and a third distance away from the vertical structures. The third distance is less than the first distance and second distance such that the vertically orientated structures provide an increased amount of support for the lower bar when a user stands on the lower bar and the third distance allows a user to position the user's feet or hands under the lower bar.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A barre apparatus for use with barre physical fitness training comprising:
 a. at least a first vertically orientated structure positioned adjacent to a second vertically orientated structure;   b. an upper bar horizontally oriented and in attachment with the first vertically orientated structure and the second vertically orientated structure and positioned at an upper bar height at approximately chest height;   c. an upper bracket configured for attaching the upper bar to at least one of the first vertically orientated structure and the second vertically orientated structure such that the upper bar is positioned a first distance away from each vertically orientated structure;   d. a middle bar horizontally oriented and in attachment with the first vertically orientated structure and the second vertically orientated structure and positioned at a middle bar height at approximately waist height and below the upper bar;   e. a middle bracket for attaching the middle bar to at least one of the first vertically orientated structure and the second vertically orientated structure such that the middle bar is positioned a second distance away from each vertical structure therein the second distance is less than the first distance;   f. a lower bar horizontally oriented and in attachment with the first vertically orientated structure and the second vertically orientated structure and positioned at a lower bar height at approximately lower leg height and below the middle bar; and,   g. a lower bracket configured for connecting the first vertically orientated structure to the second vertically orientated structure such that the lower bar is positioned a third distance away from each vertical structure, wherein the third distance is less than the first distance and second distance such that first vertically orientated structure and the second vertically orientated structures provide an increased amount of support for the lower bar when a user stands on the lower bar, and wherein the third distance allows a user to position the user's feet or hands under the lower bar.   
     
     
         2 . The barre apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the first vertically oriented structure and the second vertically orientated structure each comprise:
 a base having a planar shape that is configured to be attached to a floor; and,   a post attached to the base and configured for having the upper bracket, middle bracket and lower bracket connected thereto.   
     
     
         3 . The barre apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the having the upper bracket, middle bracket and lower bracket are integral with the post. 
     
     
         4 . The barre apparatus of  claim 3 , wherein a first opening at a terminating end of the upper bracket is configured for receiving the upper bar, a second opening at a terminating end of the middle bracket is configured for receiving the middle bar, and wherein a third opening at a terminating end of the lower bracket is configured for receiving the lower bar. 
     
     
         5 . A barre apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the vertically oriented structure is a vertical wall. 
     
     
         6 . A barre apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein an area for performing a plurality of movements is created by the first distance being greater than the second distance and third distance. 
     
     
         7 . A method for providing increased number of core engaging movements comprising:
 providing an apparatus comprising:
 a. at least one vertically orientated structure; 
 b. an upper bar horizontally oriented and in attachment with the at least one vertically orientated structure, and wherein the upper bar is positioned at approximately chest height; 
   c. an upper bracket configured for attaching the upper bar to the at least one vertically orientated structure such that the upper bar is positioned a first distance away from the orientated structure;   d. a middle bar horizontally oriented and in attachment with the at least one vertically orientated structure, wherein the middle bar is at approximately waist height and below the upper bar;   e. a middle bracket configured for attaching the middle bar to the least one vertically orientated structure such that the middle bar is positioned a second distance away from each vertical structure, wherein the second distance is less than the first distance;   f. a lower bar horizontally oriented and in attachment with the at least one vertically orientated structure at a lower bar height, wherein the lower bar height is at approximately lower leg height and below the middle bar; and,   g. a lower bracket configured for attaching the lower bar to the at least one vertically structure such that the lower bar is positioned a third distance away from each vertically orientated structure, wherein the third distance is less than the second distance and wherein the third distance allows a user to position the user's feet or hands under the lower bar;   performing a first physical movement using the apparatus, wherein the first movement has a first position and a second position;
 wherein in the first position of the first movement a user is lying on a floor facing upwards such that the user's hands are extended over the user's head, positioned below the bar; and, 
 wherein in the second potion of the first movement the user's legs are raised while the user's hands are positioned below the lower bar and applying an upward force on the lower bar; and, 
 wherein in the second position of the first movement, the user's upper body muscles are in engagement, the user's abdomen muscles are in engagement and the user's back is flat. 
   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the method further comprises performing a second physical movement using the apparatus;
 wherein during the second physical movement a user is horizontally aligned position having the user's elbows and arms positioned on the floor and having one of the user's feet positioned on top or proximate to the lower bar wherein the user maintains at least one of the first position of the second physical movement and second position of the second physical movement for an amount of time; and,   wherein the lower bar height causes the user's body to be horizontally aligned.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the method further comprises performing a third physical movement using the apparatus;
 wherein in a first position of the third movement the user is positioned lying on the floor having the user's hips on the floor proximate to the apparatus and having the user's feet positioned on top the lower bar;   wherein in a second position of the third movement the user's hips are off the floor while applying a downward force onto the lower bar by the user's feet and hands.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the method further comprises performing a fourth physical movement using the apparatus,
 wherein in a first position of the fourth physical movement the user is in a standing position with the user's hand hands positioned on the upper bar; and,   wherein in a second position of the fourth physical movement the user raises at least one leg in an area created by the first distance being greater than the second distance and third distance.   
     
     
         11 . A barre apparatus for use with barre physical fitness training comprising:
 a. at least a first vertically orientated structure positioned a first length away a second vertically orientated structure;   b. an upper bar horizontally oriented and in attachment with the vertically orientated structures and positioned at a first height and at a first distance away from a calculation point;   c. a middle bar horizontally oriented and in attachment with the vertically orientated structures and positioned at a second height below the upper bar and at a second distance away from the calculation point, wherein the second distance is less than the first distance; and,   d. a lower bar horizontally oriented and in attachment with the vertically orientated structures and positioned at a third height below the middle bar and at a third distance away from the calculation point, wherein the third distance is less than second distance such the third distance allows a user to position the user's feet or hands under the lower bar and an area for performing a plurality of movements is created by the first distance being greater than the second distance and third distance.   
     
     
         12 . The barre apparatus of  claim 11 , wherein the first vertically orientated structure is positioned approximately 6-8 feet from the second vertically orientated structure. 
     
     
         13 . The barre apparatus of  claim 12 , wherein the first vertically oriented structure and the second vertically orientated structure each comprise:
 a base having a planar shape that is configured to be attached to a floor; and,   a post attached to the base and configured for having the upper bracket, middle bracket and lower bracket connected thereto.   
     
     
         14 . A barre apparatus of  claim 12 , wherein the first vertically oriented structure and the second is a vertical wall. 
     
     
         15 . A barre apparatus of  claim 11 , wherein the first vertically orientated structure and second vertically orientated structure are positioned such that the upper bar, middle bar are non-linear.
