Systems and methods for discovering and purchasing products online

Abstract

A representative market place system that facilitates discovering and purchasing products online includes a market place server that is interconnected to a plurality of computing devices by way of a network. The market place server includes a processing device; and memory including a market place manager which has instructions that are executed by the processing device. The instructions include the logics of receiving and displaying a content from a user; associating at least one product with at, least, a portion of the content; storing the content, and the at least one product in a database; and displaying the at least one product at the content. The at least one displayed product includes product information and is selectable by the user for placing the at least one selected product that is associated with the at least a portion of the content in an online shopping cart.

Therefore, having thus described the disclosure, at least the following is claimed: 
     
         1 . A system comprising:
 a server, the server comprising a processing device and memory, the memory including instructions for:
 tagging a location of content in an image; 
 associating data with the tag, the data comprising socially and contextually relevant information associated with the content of the tagged image location: and 
 presenting the data to a user. 
   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the image and/or the data is tagged and provided by marketplace administration for storage in a data base. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the image and; or the data is tagged and provided by the user for storage in a data base. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising instructions for receiving an entry from a user and searching the database for tagged image locations related to the received entry. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising instructions for tracking user activity, the user activity comprising at least one of selections of tagged data and selections of content for viewing. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 5 , further comprising instructions for generating commissions and/or rewards based on the tracked user activity. 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the content is accessible from multiple merchants. 
     
     
         8 . A system comprising:
 a server, the server comprising a processing device and memory, the memory including instructions for:
 presenting data to a user, the data tagged to locations of content in an image, the data comprising socially and contextually relevant information associated with the content of the tagged image location; 
 receiving selections of tagged location content from the user; and 
 storing the selections in a database, the database comprising at least one of a list of interest and a shopping cart. 
   
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the image and/or the data is tagged and provided by marketplace administration for storage in a data base. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the image and/or the data is tagged and provided by the user for storage in a data base. 
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 8 , further comprising instructions for receiving an entry from a user and searching the database for tagged image locations related to the received entry. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 8 , further comprising instructions for tracking user activity, the user activity comprising at least one of selections of tagged data and selections of content for viewing. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 12 , further comprising instructions for generating commissions and/or rewards based on the tracked user activity, 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the content is accessible from multiple merchants. 
     
     
         15 . A system comprising:
 a server, the server comprising a processing device and memory, the memory including instructions for:
 maintaining a database of data tagged to locations of content in an image, the data comprising socially and contextually relevant information associated with the content of the tagged image location 
 receiving incoming data from a user, the incoming data comprising data tagged to locations of content in an image, the data comprising socially and contextually relevant information associated with the content of the tagged image location; and 
 updating the database with the incoming data. 
   
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the image and/or the data is tagged and provided by at least one of marketplace administration and the user for storage in a data base. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 15 , further comprising instructions for receiving an entry from a user and searching the database for tagged image locations related to the received entry. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 15 , further comprising instructions for tracking user activity, the user activity comprising at least one of selections of tagged data and selections of content for viewing. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 18 , further comprising instructions for generating commissions and/or rewards based on the tracked user activity. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the content is accessible from multiple merchants.
