Abstract

There are provided systems and method for wireless beacon communications through magnetic card readers. A check-in at a merchant location may be completed using a beacon at the merchant location with a communication device. When a user wishes to pay for an item, the beacon may alert the user through their communication device that payment may be effectuated through the communication device. The communication device may communicate a payment token to the wireless beacon that identifies payment information for the user using a payment provider. The payment token may be encrypted, and the wireless beacon may decrypted the payment token prior to transmission to an accessory of a point of sale device, such as a magnetic card reader using magnetic field generation. This payment token may then be transmitted to a point of sale device, which may utilize a payment provider and/or a payment card issuer to effectuate payment.

3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the communication device is detected by the system using a wireless sensor over short range wireless communications within the proximity range.

4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the detecting the communication device comprises receiving connection information for a connection between the communication device and the wireless sensor through the short range wireless communications.

5 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the wireless sensor comprises a magnetic field generation component.

6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the magnetic card data is associated with magnetic field emissions by the magnetic field generation component, and wherein the magnetic field emissions emulate a reading of one of a credit card or a debit card.

7 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the proximity range is based at least in part on a checkout location corresponding to the point of sale device.

8 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the magnetic card data comprises a sequence generated from the identifier, and wherein the identifier corresponds to a pre-established payment card token.

9 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the identifier comprises an alphanumeric code corresponding to a time-variable mapping associated with the communication device and the point of sale device.

10 . The system of claim 2 , wherein prior to processing the payment request, the operations further comprise:
causing to be displayed, on the communication device, payment instruments for the account that are available for use with the payment request; and receiving a selection of one of the payment instruments from the communication device, wherein the payment request is processed using the one of the payment instruments.

11 . The system of claim 2 , wherein magnetic card data comprises a set number of digits that cause the point of sale device to select the system for the processing the payment request.

         12 . A method comprising:
receiving, from a sensor device, information for a connection between a communication device and the sensor device, wherein the information comprises a device identifier for the communication device and a location identifier for the sensor device; determining an account associated with the communication device based on the device identifier; generating a code for the communication device based on the information and the account; transmitting the code to the communication device; receiving, from a point of sale device, transaction data for a transaction between a user associated with the communication device and a merchant associated with the point of sale device, wherein the transaction data comprises magnetic card information received by the point of sale device from the sensor device via a magnetic card reader of the point of sale device, and wherein the magnetic card information includes the code; and identifying the account based on the magnetic card information.

13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising:
processing the transaction using the account.

14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the transaction data further comprises payment information including at least one of a price of the transaction, an item in the transaction, an identifier associated with the point of sale device, or the location identifier, and wherein prior to processing the transaction, the method further comprises:
transmitting the payment information to the communication device; and receiving an approval of the transaction from the communication device.

15 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the generating the code comprises:
determining a time-variable mapping between the user and the merchant based on the location identifier, wherein the generating is based on the time-variable mapping and the code is an alphanumeric code.

16 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the information for the connection is received in response to a check-in request by the communication device with the sensor device.

17 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon machine-readable instructions executable to cause a machine to perform operations comprising:
generating, by a point of sale device, a transaction between a user and a merchant; receiving, by the point of sale device via a magnetic card reader of the point of sale device, magnetic card data from a device associated with a check location through magnetic field communications, wherein the magnetic card data comprises a time variable code associated with a communication device of the user that is based on a connection between the communication device and the device; and processing the transaction with a transaction processing service using the magnetic card data.
