Abstract
Disclosed herein is a drain fixture having a first end and a second end. The first end has an annular flange portion and a concave outer surface. The second end is opposite the first end. The second end includes a tubular shape having a threaded portion. The concave outer surface includes a concave contour in a direction towards the threaded portion.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A drain fixture comprising:
a first end having an annular flange portion and a concave outer surface; and a second end opposite the first end, wherein the second end comprises a tubular shape having a threaded portion; wherein the concave outer surface comprises a concave contour in a direction towards the threaded portion.
2 . The drain fixture of claim 1 , wherein the drain fixture is a one-piece member.
3 . The drain fixture of claim 1 , wherein the drain fixture comprises a center axis, and wherein the concave contour is toward the center axis.
4 . The drain fixture of claim 1 , wherein the concave outer surface comprises a plurality of openings.
5 . The drain fixture of claim 4 , wherein a plane of the annular flange portion is perpendicular to a center axis of the drain fixture, wherein a first one of the plurality of openings is at a first distance from the plane, and wherein a second one of the plurality of openings is at a second different distance from the plane.
6 . The drain fixture of claim 1 , wherein the first end further comprises a substantially flat surface and a plurality of openings, wherein the substantially flat surface is opposite the concave outer surface, and wherein the plurality of openings extend between the concave outer surface and the substantially flat surface.
7 . The drain fixture of claim 1 , further comprising a tailpiece having a tubular shape, wherein the tailpiece is configured to be connected to the second end of the drain fixture, and wherein the drain fixture and the tailpiece form a drain assembly.
8 . A drain fixture comprising:
a first end having an annular flange portion and a plurality of openings, wherein an outer edge of the annular flange portion forms a plane, and wherein the plurality of openings are spaced from the plane; and a second end opposite the first end, wherein the second end comprises a tubular shape having a threaded portion; wherein the plane of the annular flange portion is perpendicular to a center axis of the drain fixture, wherein a first one of the plurality of openings is at a first distance from the plane, and wherein a second one of the plurality of openings is at a second different distance from the plane.
9 . The drain fixture of claim 8 , wherein the first and second distances are between the plane and the threaded portion.
10 . The drain fixture of claim 8 , wherein the first end comprises a concave outer surface.
11 . The drain fixture of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of openings are integrally formed at the concave outer surface of the first end.
12 . The drain fixture of claim 10 , wherein the concave outer surface comprises a concave contour in a direction towards the threaded portion.
13 . The drain fixture of claim 10 , wherein the first end further comprises a substantially flat surface, wherein the substantially flat surface is opposite the concave outer surface, and wherein the plurality of openings extend between the concave outer surface and the substantially flat surface.
14 . The drain fixture of claim 10 , further comprising a tailpiece having a tubular shape, wherein the tailpiece is configured to be connected to the second end of the drain fixture, and wherein the drain fixture and the tailpiece form a drain assembly.
15 . A drain assembly comprising:
a drain fixture comprising a first end and an opposite second end; and a tailpiece having a tubular shape, wherein the tailpiece is configured to be connected to the second end of the drain fixture; wherein the first end of the drain fixture has an annular flange portion and a drain portion, wherein an exterior side of the drain portion comprises a concave surface, wherein an interior side of the drain portion comprises a substantially flat surface, and wherein the drain portion comprises a plurality of openings extending between the concave surface and the substantially flat surface.
16 . The drain assembly of claim 15 , wherein a first wall thickness between the concave and substantially flat surfaces proximate a first one of the plurality of openings comprises a first dimension, and wherein a second wall thickness between the concave and substantially flat surfaces proximate a second one of the plurality of openings comprises a second different dimension.
17 . The drain assembly of claim 15 , wherein the opposite second end of the drain fixture comprises a threaded section, and wherein the concave surface comprises a concave contour in a direction towards the threaded portion.
18 . The drain assembly of claim 15 , wherein a plane of the annular flange portion is perpendicular to a center axis of the drain fixture, wherein a first one of the plurality of openings is at a first distance from the plane, and wherein a second one of the plurality of openings is at a second different distance from the plane.
19 . The drain assembly of claim 15 , wherein the drain fixture is configured to extend through a drain opening of a tub, a sink, a basin, or a vessel.
20 . The drain assembly of claim 15 , further comprising a nut and at least one washer, wherein the nut is configured to be threadably engageable with the opposite second end of the drain fixture, and wherein the at least one washer is configured to be disposed between the first end of the drain fixture and the nut.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
