Hand Immobilizing Dexterity Trainer Glove
Abstract
A hand immobilizing dexterity trainer glove for improving non-dominant hand dexterity includes a glove body having a dorsal side, a ventral side, a thumb side, and a pinky side. The glove body has a wrist aperture, a finger aperture, and a hand cavity extending from the wrist aperture to the finger aperture. The glove body is configured to receive a dominant hand of a user and extend from below a wrist to past a second knuckle of each finger of the user while covering a thumb of the user entirely within the hand cavity. A wrist tightening mechanism is coupled to the glove body proximal the wrist aperture to tighten and alternatively loosen the wrist aperture. A finger tightening mechanism is coupled to the glove body proximal the finger aperture to tighten and alternatively loosen the finger aperture. The hand immobilizing dexterity trainer glove renders the user's dominant hand unusable.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A hand immobilizing dexterity trainer glove comprising:
a glove body having a dorsal side, a ventral side, a thumb side, and a pinky side, the glove body having a wrist aperture, a finger aperture, and a hand cavity extending from the wrist aperture to the finger aperture, wherein the glove body is configured to receive a dominant hand of a user, wherein the glove body extends from below a wrist of the user to past a second knuckle of each finger of the user and covers a thumb of the user entirely within the hand cavity; a wrist tightening mechanism coupled to the glove body, the wrist tightening mechanism being proximal the wrist aperture, the wrist tightening mechanism tightening and alternatively loosening the wrist aperture; and a finger tightening mechanism coupled to the glove body, the finger tightening mechanism being proximal the finger aperture, the finger tightening mechanism tightening and alternatively loosening the finger aperture; wherein the glove body, the wrist tightening mechanism, and the finger tightening mechanism are configured to render the dominant hand of the user unusable.
2 . The hand immobilizing dexterity trainer glove of claim 1 further comprising a thumb divider coupled to the glove body within the hand cavity, the thumb divider extending from the ventral side to the dorsal side and from the finger aperture to a midline of the glove body, the thumb divider creating a thumb pocket from the thumb side to the thumb divider, wherein the thumb divider is configured to receive the thumb of the user.
3 . The hand immobilizing dexterity trainer glove of claim 1 further comprising the wrist tightening mechanism comprising a wrist strap having a fixed end, a free end, a top side, and a bottom side, the top side having a first hook-and-loop fastener adjacent the fixed end, the bottom side having a second hook-and-loop fastener adjacent the free end, the first hook-and-loop fastener being selectively engageable with the second hook-and-loop fastener, the wrist strap being wrapable around the glove body adjacent the wrist aperture and configured to secure the glove body to the wrist of the user.
4 . The hand immobilizing dexterity trainer glove of claim 3 further comprising the finger tightening mechanism comprising a finger strap having a second fixed end, a second free end, an up side, and a down side, the up side having a third hook-and-loop fastener adjacent the second fixed end and a fourth hook-and-loop fastener adjacent the second free end, the third hook-and-loop fastener being selectively engageable with the fourth hook-and-loop fastener, the second free end passing through a slot in the glove body proximal the finger aperture and folding back toward the fixed end to cinch the finger aperture.
5 . A hand immobilizing dexterity trainer glove comprising:
a glove body having a dorsal side, a ventral side, a thumb side, and a pinky side, the glove body having a wrist aperture, a finger aperture, and a hand cavity extending from the wrist aperture to the finger aperture, wherein the glove body is configured to receive a dominant hand of a user, wherein the glove body extends from below a wrist of the user to past a second knuckle of each finger of the user and covers a thumb of the user entirely within the hand cavity; a thumb divider coupled to the glove body within the hand cavity, the thumb divider extending from the ventral side to the dorsal side and from the finger aperture to a midline of the glove body, the thumb divider creating a thumb pocket from the thumb side to the thumb divider, wherein the thumb divider is configured to receive the thumb of the user; a wrist tightening mechanism coupled to the glove body, the wrist tightening mechanism being proximal the wrist aperture, the wrist tightening mechanism comprising a wrist strap having a fixed end, a free end, a top side, and a bottom side, the top side having a first hook-and-loop fastener adjacent the fixed end, the bottom side having a second hook-and-loop fastener adjacent the free end, the first hook-and-loop fastener being selectively engageable with the second hook-and-loop fastener, the wrist strap being wrapable around the glove body adjacent the wrist aperture, the wrist tightening mechanism tightening and alternatively loosening the wrist aperture and configured to secure the glove body to the wrist of the user; and a finger tightening mechanism coupled to the glove body, the finger tightening mechanism being proximal the finger aperture, the finger tightening mechanism comprising a finger strap having a second fixed end, a second free end, an up side, and a down side, the up side having a third hook-and-loop fastener adjacent the second fixed end and a fourth hook-and-loop fastener adjacent the second free end, the third hook-and-loop fastener being selectively engageable with the fourth hook-and-loop fastener, the second free end passing through a slot in the glove body proximal the finger aperture and folding back toward the fixed end to cinch the finger aperture, the finger tightening mechanism tightening and alternatively loosening the finger aperture; wherein the glove body, the wrist tightening mechanism, and the finger tightening mechanism are configured to render the dominant hand of the user unusable.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
