Clothes treating system and control method therefor

Abstract

A control method for a clothes treating system comprises an external terminal and a clothes treating device formed to be able to communicate with the external terminal, wherein the clothes treating device comprises a power input unit, a course selection unit formed for selecting a course among preconfigured courses, and an execution input unit for driving the clothes treating device according to the selected course; and the external terminal is formed to display information on an external environment and one or more recommended courses preconfigured on the basis of the information on the external environment, after power is input to the clothes treating device and before an execution command is input through the execution input unit.

A method of controlling a clothes treating system including a clothes treating device, and an external terminal, the clothes treating device including a first power input, a course selector configured to select one of a plurality of courses, an execution button, and a controller configured to be able to communicate with the external terminal, the control method comprising the steps of:
 supplying power to the clothes treating device;   initiating a clothes treating application by the external terminal, the external terminal being configured to display one or more recommended courses from among the plurality of courses based on a plurality of external environmental factors;   selecting a course from among the plurality of courses through the course selector; and   inputting an execution command through the execution button.   
     
     
         2 . The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 1 , wherein the external terminal comprises a second power input, and wherein the clothes treating device is enabled for selecting the course either through the first power input on the clothes treating device or through the second power input of the external terminal, wherein the clothes treating device is enabled by the second power input based on a communication between the external terminal and a sensor located in a holder provided on the clothes treating device and configured to support the external terminal.

The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 1 , wherein the one or more recommended courses displayed by the external terminal are courses among the plurality of courses that have been previously set based on information on the plurality of external environmental factors that includes at least one of a season, weather, humidity, temperature, dust concentration, or pollen index. 
     
     
         4 . The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 3 , wherein the external terminal is configured to display drying recommended information on one of indoor drying, outdoor drying, or drying based on a drying function of the clothes treating device and information on the possibility of allergy, on the basis of the information on the plurality of external environmental factors. 
     
     
         5 . The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 3 , wherein the information on the plurality of external environmental factors and the previously set one or more recommended courses according to the plurality of external environmental factors are displayed on the external terminal after the initiation of the clothes treatment application and before the course is selected through the course selector. 
     
     
         6 . The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 1 , wherein the external terminal is configured to display information on the course selected in accordance with a manipulation of the course selector on a display of the external terminal. 
     
     
         7 . The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 6 , wherein the information on the course includes at least one of a description of the course selected through the course selector, a clothes treating effect by the selected course, detailed information of the selected course, or clothes treating prediction time according to the selected course. 
     
     
         8 . The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 1 , wherein the initiating of the clothes treating application includes:
 logging into an external server through the external terminal;   receiving information on the plurality of external environmental factors and information on the one or more recommended courses from the external server onto the external terminal; and   displaying the information, which is received in the external terminal from the external server, on the external terminal.   
     
     
         9 . The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 1 , further including displaying an operation state of the clothes treating device on the external terminal in real time after the initiation of the clothes treating application is performed or after the course is selected. 
     
     
         10 . The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 displaying a clothes treating time according to the selected course on the external terminal; and   changing a clothes treating end time through a touch and drag of the time displayed on the external terminal, wherein the displaying and the changing are performed between selecting the course and the inputting of the execution command.   
     
     
         11 . The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 1 , wherein each of the clothes treating device and the external terminal includes a near field communication (NFC) module for NFC communication. 
     
     
         12 . The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 11 , wherein the clothes treating device comprises:
 a cabinet;   a tub provided in the cabinet; and   a drum rotatably provided inside the tub, and wherein the external terminal is configured to:
 receive at least one of a most recent washing time of the tub or the drum or the number of driving times of the clothes treating device from the clothes treating device through NFC communication; and 
 display the received information. 
   
     
     
         13 . The control method of the clothes treating system according to  claim 12 , wherein the external terminal is configured to display information on the need of washing of the tub or the drum on the basis of at least one of the washing timing or the number of driving times of the clothes treating device. 
     
     
         14 . A control method of a clothes treating device including a course selection input, a first power input, and an external terminal configured to communicate with the clothes treating device, the method comprising:
 supplying power to the clothes treating device;   displaying recommended courses on the external terminal based on information related to an external environment provided by an external server;   selecting a course from a plurality of courses including the recommended courses;   displaying a clothes treating time on the external terminal, wherein a start time or an end time for the selected course is configured to be set by a user; and   performing the selected course according to the set time.   
     
     
         15 . The control method of  claim 14 , wherein the power is supplied to the clothes treating device either through a power button located on the clothes treating device or by a sensing of the external terminal in a holder provided on the clothes treating device by a sensor provided in the holder. 
     
     
         16 . The control method of  claim 15 , wherein the external terminal is configured to display drying recommended information on one of indoor drying, outdoor drying, or drying based on a drying function of the clothes treating device and information on the possibility of allergy, on the basis of the information on the external environment. 
     
     
         17 . The control method of  claim 14 , wherein before the recommended courses are shown on the external terminal, the control method further comprises:
 logging into an external server through the external terminal;   receiving information on the external environment and information on one or more recommended courses from the external server onto the external terminal; and   displaying the information, which is received in the external terminal from the external server, on the external terminal.   
     
     
         18 . The control method according to  claim 17 , wherein the clothes treating device further comprises:
 a cabinet;   a tub provided within the cabinet; and   a drum provided within the tub and configured to be rotatable with respect to the tub.   
     
     
         19 . The control method of  claim 18 , wherein the external terminal is configured to display information on a need of washing of the tub or the drum on the basis of at least one of the washing timing or the number of driving times of the clothes treating device.
