Intubation accessory

Abstract

An intubation tube accessory for use in combination with an intubation tool. The accessory includes an illumination member; an imaging device; a communication mechanism configured to convey images from the imaging device to a display screen; and an intubation fixing mechanism configured for removable fixing of the intubation accessory to the intubation tool.

1 . An intubation tube accessory for use in combination with an intubation tool, the accessory comprising:
 an illumination member;   an imaging device with which the illumination member is associated;   a communication mechanism operably connected to said imaging device and configured to convey images from the imaging device to a display screen; and   an intubation tool fixing mechanism configured for removable fixing of said intubation accessory to said tool.   
     
     
         2 . The accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the intubation tool fixing mechanism comprises a generally cylindrical shape. 
     
     
         3 . The accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the intubation tool fixing mechanism comprises at least one outwardly extending projection. 
     
     
         4 . The accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the intubation tool fixing mechanism comprises a threaded portion. 
     
     
         5 . The accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the intubation tool fixing mechanism comprises at least one spring. 
     
     
         6 . The accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the intubation tool fixing mechanism comprises a foam sleeve. 
     
     
         7 . The accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the intubation tool fixing mechanism comprises a set of tool fixing members. 
     
     
         8 . The accessory of  claim 1 , further comprising a carbon dioxide sensor to assist intubation. 
     
     
         9 . The accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the imaging device includes a video camera. 
     
     
         10 . The accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the communication mechanism includes a cable. 
     
     
         11 . The accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the communication mechanism includes a wireless communication system. 
     
     
         12 . The accessory of  claim 1 , further comprising a fiber optic tube configured to be attachable to the intubation tool and to communicate with imaging capture device.
