Abstract

A method for controlling an object space having an associated object environment includes the steps of, defining a target set of coordinates in the object space, recognizing the presence of a predetermined object in the object space, and determining a coordinate location of the recognized predetermined object in the object space. The method further includes determining the spatial relationship between the recognized predetermined object and the target set of coordinates, comparing the spatial relationship with predetermined spatial relationship criteria, and if the determined spatial relationship criteria falls within the predetermined spatial relationship criteria, modifying the object space environment.

Claims

1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A method for controlling an environment using an audio stream, the method comprising:
receiving at least one audio stream; determining audio characteristics of the at least one audio stream; creating one or more audio attributes based on the audio characteristics of the at least one audio stream; mapping the one or more audio attributes to at least one control device; and controlling the at least one control device based on the one or more audio attributes to modify an object space environment.

22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the at least one audio stream is received over a data network.

23 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the at least one audio stream is received from at least one audio source.

24 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising receiving one or more labels corresponding to the at least one audio source or corresponding to a type of the at least one audio source.

25 . The method of claim 24 , wherein the one or more labels are used in creating the one or more audio attributes and mapping the one or more audio attributes to the at least one control device.

26 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the one or more audio attributes include at least one of beat, pitch or frequency, key, time, volume, or harmony.

27 . The method of claim 26 , further comprising:
creating an audio profile including at least one of the one or more audio attributes; and updating the at least one control device based on the audio profile.

28 . The method of claim 27 , wherein the audio profile is associated with a specific genre of music.

29 . The method of claim 26 , wherein controlling the at least one control device includes changing a video stream based on the one or more audio attributes.

30 . The method of claim 26 , wherein controlling the at least one control device includes controlling at least one light source based on the one or more audio attributes.

31 . The method of claim 30 , wherein controlling the at least one light source based on the one or more audio attributes includes setting or disabling one or more light source behaviors, wherein the one or more light source behaviors include at least one of an intensity, a color, a light pattern, a light or image shape, a light or image position, or a movement of the at least one light source.

32 . The method of claim 31 , further comprising:
storing one or more light source configuration profiles in a light source configuration database and output control system, wherein the one or more light source configuration profiles include the one or more light source behaviors; and controlling the at least one light source based on at least one of the one or more light source configuration profiles.

33 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the at least one light source includes a plurality of light sources.

34 . The method of claim 33 , further comprising controlling the plurality of light sources based on the one or more light source behaviors.

35 . The method of claim 34 , wherein controlling the plurality of light sources based on the one or more light source behaviors includes triggering each one of the plurality of light sources in a predefined sequence.

36 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the predefined sequence includes enabling each of the plurality of light sources by at least one of: in columns from left to right, in columns from right to left, enabling odd numbered light sources, or enabling even numbered light sources.

37 . The method of claim 34 , wherein controlling the plurality of light sources based on the one or more light source behaviors includes altering attributes of a pixel mapped image.

38 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
posting a sync event; checking, in response to the sync event, system and node environment variables; updating, in response to the sync event, the one or more audio attributes mapped to the at least one control device based on the at least one audio stream and the system and node environment variables; and controlling the at least one control device based on the updated one or more audio attributes.

39 . The method of claim 38 , wherein the system and node environment variables include inhibit or pause variables.

40 . The method of claim 38 , wherein the sync event is determined by a control parameter including at least one of:
an operation mode including a random operation, a sequential operation, or a static operation; and an attribute change threshold based on a change exceeding a threshold in one of the one or more audio attributes.
