Abstract

Methods, systems, and computer storage media for a wearable device are presented. The wearable device includes a wearable housing and a transceiver attached to the wearable housing and configured to receive a first data item. The first data item is contact information or an event identifier. The transceiver is further configured to transmit a second data item. The second data item is contact information. The transceiver has an effective range of less than one meter. The transceiver is able to receive the first data item and transmit the second data item in less than three seconds. The wearable device also includes a memory configured to store the first data item and the second data item.

 a wearable housing configured as a ring, the wearable housing being wearable on a finger;   a transceiver embedded in a band portion of the ring and configured to communicate data with a base station; and   a memory configured to store the data.

         62 . The wearable device of  claim 59 , wherein the one or more devices include a user input device, wherein the user input device is operable impact control of the base station or authentication of a user. 
     
     
         63 . The wearable device of  claim 61 , wherein the user input device is operable to detect voice input or user gestures. 
     
     
         64 . The wearable device of  claim 51 , wherein the transceiver is able to receive the first data item and transmit the second data item in less than three seconds. 
     
     
         65 . The wearable device of  claim 51 , wherein the base station is a mobile phone or other mobile device.

The wearable device of  claim 51 , wherein the data comprises identifier information and the transceiver is further configured to receive an identifier from the base station and transmit a second identifier, the second identifier associated with a user of the wearable device. 
     
     
         67 . A system comprising:
 a wearable device comprising:   a wearable housing configured as a ring, the wearable housing being wearable on a finger; and   a transceiver embedded in a band portion of the ring and configured to communicate data with a base station; and   a memory configured to store the data.   
     
     
         68 . The system of  claim 66 , the wearable device further comprising the memory. 
     
     
         69 . The system of  claim 66 , wherein the data comprises an identifier associated with a user of the wearable device. 
     
     
         70 . The system of  claim 66 , wherein the base station is a mobile phone or other mobile device.
