Abstract
There is disclosed a gaming system and method of gaming for playing a game, wherein in response to receipt of an additional bet from a player, the player is able to obtain at least one additional outcome in relation to which an additional prize is awarded. It is determined independently of whether the player has placed the additional bet, whether to award the additional prize to the player based on an amount bet by the player.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A gaming system, comprising:
a display; a player interface; a memory; and a processor executing instructions stored in the memory, the instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to at least: place a bet in response to player input received via the player interface; in response to the bet comprising at least a base bet, present a first game outcome on the display, and award a first prize based on the first game outcome; in response to the bet comprising the base bet and an optional additional bet, present a second game outcome on the display, and award a second prize per a first win opportunity that is dependent upon the second game outcome; and award the second prize per a second win opportunity that is independent of the first game outcome, the second game outcome, and the bet including the optional additional bet.
2 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to award the second prize per the second win opportunity after determining an amount of the bet satisfies a trigger condition for the second prize.
3 . The gaming system of claim 2 , wherein the trigger condition is based on a proscribed return to player (RTP) for the second prize.
4 . The gaming system of claim 2 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to determine that the trigger condition is satisfied in response to a cumulative bet amount having a predetermined relationship to a trigger value.
5 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:
select a set of numbers that includes a quantity of numbers that is dependent upon an amount of the bet; and award the second prize per the second win opportunity in response to a random trigger number matching a number in the set of numbers.
6 . The gaming system of claim 5 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to select the quantity of numbers in the set of numbers such that the quantity of numbers is proportional to the amount of the bet.
7 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein a chance of the processor awarding the second prize is proportional to an amount of the bet.
8 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the second prize is a progressive prize.
9 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the second prize is a fixed prize.
10 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein:
the first game outcome comprises symbols selected from a first set of symbols; and the second game outcome comprises symbols selected from a second set of symbols that comprises the first set of symbols and at least one additional symbol.
11 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:
present the first game outcome via a plurality of reels on the display; and modify the first game outcome into the second game outcome by nudging a reel of the plurality of reels in response to player input received from the player interface.
12 . A method of one or more gaming servers coupled to a client computing device via a network, the method comprising:
receiving, with the one or more gaming servers via the network, a bet placed via a player interface of the client computing device; in response to the bet comprising at least a base bet, generating with the one or more gaming servers a first game outcome, and awarding a first prize based on the first game outcome; in response to the bet comprising the base bet and an optional additional bet, generating with the one or more gaming servers a second game outcome, and awarding a second prize based on the second game outcome; and awarding the second prize based on other criteria that are independent of the first game outcome, the second game outcome, and the bet including the optional additional bet.
13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising:
transmitting the first game outcome from the one or more gaming servers to the client computing device for presentation on a display of the client computing device; and transmitting the second game outcome from the one or more gaming servers to the client computing device for presentation on the display of the client computing device.
14 . The method of claim 12 , gaming system of claim 1 , wherein awarding the second prize based on the other criteria awards the second prize after determining, with the one or more gaming servers, that an amount of the bet causes a cumulative bet amount to have a predetermined relationship with a trigger value.
15 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising:
selecting, with the one or more gaming servers, a set of numbers that includes a quantity of numbers that is dependent upon an amount of the bet; wherein awarding the second prize based on other criteria awards the second prize in response to the one or more gaming servers determining that a random trigger number matches a number in the set of numbers.
16 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium, comprising a plurality of instructions that, in response to being executed, cause a gaming system to at least:
receive a bet placed via a player interface of the gaming system; in response to the bet comprising at least a base bet, generate and present a first game outcome via a display of the gaming system, and award a first prize based on the first game outcome; in response to the bet comprising the base bet and an optional additional bet, generate and present a second game outcome on the display of the gaming system, and award a second prize per a first win opportunity that is based, at least in part, on the second game outcome; and awarding the second prize per a second win opportunity that is independent of the first game outcome, the second game outcome, and the bet including the optional additional bet.
17 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the plurality of instructions further cause the gaming system to award the second prize per the second win opportunity after determining that an amount of the bet causes a cumulative bet amount to have a predetermined relationship with a trigger value.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the plurality of instructions further cause the gaming system to:
select a set of numbers that includes a quantity of numbers that is dependent upon an amount of the bet; award the second prize per the second win opportunity in response to determining that a random trigger number matches a number in the set of numbers.
19 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 18 , wherein the plurality of instructions further cause the gaming system to select the quantity of numbers in the set of numbers such that the quantity of numbers is proportional to an amount of the bet.
20 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein a chance of awarding the second prize is proportional to an amount of the bet.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
