Abstract

A terminal according to the present invention includes: a display which detects an operation on a display surface, and deforms part of the display surface; and a controller which carries out at least one of a first control in response to a drag operation of an icon displayed on the display surface so that a place in the display surface to which the icon is not allowed to move is deformed to have a shape different from that of another place and a second control in response to a swipe operation on the display surface so that an end portion of the display surface in a direction of a swipe operation is deformed to have a shape different from that of another place.

         14 . An operation apparatus comprising:
 a display;   a detector arranged in association with the display and configured to detect an operation of a user;   a deformable part arranged in association with the display and configured to be deformable; and   a controller configured to control the deformable part,   wherein the controller is configured to cause the deformable part to be formed into an alternating series of a first shape and a second shape different from the first shape to inform the user of invalidity with respect to a predetermined single operation detected by the detector.   
     
     
         15 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 14 , wherein the second shape is a convex shape. 
     
     
         16 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 14 , wherein
 the controller is configured to cause the deformable part at a place to be formed into the alternating series of the first shape and the second shape based on the detected predetermined single operation to the place.   
     
     
         17 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 16 , wherein
 the controller is configured to cause the deformable part at the place to be formed into the alternating series of the first shape and the second shape based on an icon displayed by the display at the place.   
     
     
         18 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 14 , wherein
 the controller is configured to cause all of the deformable part to be formed into the alternating series of the first shape and the second shape.   
     
     
         19 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 14 , wherein
 the controller is configured to cause the deformable part to be formed into the alternating series of the first shape and the second shape in response to the detected predetermined single operation.   
     
     
         20 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 16 , wherein
 the controller is configured to cause the deformable part at the place to be formed into the alternating series of the first shape and the second shape based on the detected predetermined single operation for an object displayed by the display.   
     
     
         21 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 14 , wherein
 the operation apparatus is configured to function as a user interface for an image pickup apparatus.   
     
     
         22 . An operation apparatus comprising:
 a display;   a detector arranged in association with the display and configured to detect an operation of a user;   a deformable part arranged in association with the display and configured to be deformable; and   a controller configured to perform a control of the deformable part so that a place of the deformable part is deformed, in a case where the controller determines based on the detected operation that the place is to be subjected to a swipe operation, to notify a user of an effect with respect to the place where the swipe operation is repeated to satisfy a predetermined condition of attributes related to the place.   
     
     
         23 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 22 , wherein
 the controller is configured to determine the place based on an estimated trace of the swipe operation.   
     
     
         24 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 23 , wherein
 the controller is configured to obtain the estimated trace based on a speed and a direction of the detected operation.   
     
     
         25 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 22 , wherein
 the detector is configured to detect the swipe operation for changing of images.   
     
     
         26 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 22 , wherein
 the operation apparatus is configured to function as a user interface for an image pickup apparatus.   
     
     
         27 . An operation apparatus comprising:
 a display configured to display a slider to be operated by a user;   a detector arranged in association with the display and configured to detect an operation of the user;   a deformable part arranged in association with the display and configured to be deformable; and   a controller configured to cause the deformable part to be deformed based on the detected operation for the displayed slider to inform the user of an end of an allowable range of a sliding operation of the displayed slider.   
     
     
         28 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 27 , wherein
 the controller is configured to cause the deformable part to be deformed in a region surrounding the allowable range.   
     
     
         29 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 28 , wherein
 the controller is configured to cause the deformable part to be deformed in a region of the displayed slider with the region surrounding the allowable range.   
     
     
         30 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 27 , wherein
 the display is configured to display a button for operating the displayed slider, and   the controller is configured to cause the deformable part to be deformed in a region of the displayed button to inform the user of the end.   
     
     
         31 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 27 , wherein
 the controller is configured to cause the deformable part to be deformed in a predetermined region in the allowable range.   
     
     
         32 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 31 , wherein
 the predetermined region includes a center of the allowable range.   
     
     
         33 . The operation apparatus according to  claim 27 , wherein the operation apparatus has a function of performing an operation related to a camera, and
 the displayed slider is configured to be operated for one of focus, zoom, exposure, pan, and tilt.
