Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a system for medical dispensing, management and monitoring. According to one aspect, a remote medical management environment can include a medical management system intermediary to a plurality of patients and a plurality of medical care providers. The medical management system can communicate with medical dispensing devices configured to dispense medication to patients. Further, the medical management system can communicate with provider devices through which medical care providers can access medicine related information of patients and provide instructions, which can administer treatment protocols to patients of the medical dispensing devices. The remote medical management environment can allow medical care providers, such as doctors, the ability to remotely manage and administer medications to patients, while at the same time, avoid accidental medicinal drug use and abuse by patients.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . (canceled)

2 . A device to dispense medicine via instructions from a medical management system, the device comprising:
a communications module configured to communicate via one or more networks with a medical management system; one or more cartridges comprising one or more medications to dispense to a patient; one or more actuators configured to actuate dispensing of the one or more medications from the one or more cartridges; an outlet port through which the one or more medications within the one or more cartridges are dispensed from the device; one or more processors configured to: receive from the medical management system over the one or more networks via the communications module instructions on dispensing the one or more medications to the patient; and causing the one or more actuators to dispense the one more medications from the one or more cartridges to the patient in accordance with the instructions.

3 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the instructions from the medical management systems provides dosage instructions.

4 . The device of claim 3 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the one or more actuators to actuate the one or more cartridges to dispense an amount of the one or more medications corresponding to the dosage instructions.

5 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the instructions from the medical management systems provides a time for administering the one or more medications.

6 . The device of claim 5 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the one or more actuators to actuate the one or more cartridges to dispense the one or more medications corresponding to the time provided by the instructions.

7 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the one or more cartridges are one of removable or refillable.

8 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the outlet port is configured to administer the one or more medications orally.

9 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the outlet port is configured to administer the one or more medications one of topically, subcutaneously, pulmonary or intravenously.

10 . The device of claim 2 , further comprising a temperature control module to control a temperature of the one or more medications.

11 . The device of claim 2 , further comprising an identification module configured to validate requests received from other device.

12 . The device of claim 2 , further comprising an identification module configured to validate an identity of the patient to which the device is assigned.

13 . A system to remotely administer medication via a dispensing device, the system comprising:
a medical management system intermediary to a plurality of patents and a plurality of medical care providers and configured to communicate with a plurality of dispensing devices that dispense medications to patients and to allow the plurality of medical care providers to remotely administer medications to patients; a dispensing device of the plurality of dispensing devices comprising: a communications module to communicate via one or more networks with the medical management system; one or more cartridges comprising one or more medications to dispense to a patient through an outlet port responsive to one or more actuators within the dispensing device; one or more processors configured to cause the one or more actuators to actuate; wherein the medical management systems communicates remotely via one or more networks, responsive to input from a medical care provider of the plurality of medical care provider, instructions to administer medication of a patient of the plurality of patients subscribed to the medical management system; and wherein the dispensing device receives the instructions from the medical management system and the one or more processors, responsive to receiving the instructions, causes the one or more actuators to dispense a medication of the one more medications from a cartridge of the one or more cartridges to the patient in accordance with the instructions.

14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the instructions from the medical management systems provides dosage instructions of the medication for the patient.

15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the one or more actuators to actuate the cartridge to dispense an amount of the medication corresponding to the dosage instructions.

16 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the instructions from the medical management systems provides a time for administering the one or more medications.

17 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to cause the one or more actuators to actuate the cartridge to dispense the medication corresponding to the time provided by the instructions.

18 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the dispensing device is configured to administer the one or more medications one of orally, topically, subcutaneously, pulmonary or intravenously.

19 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the medical management system is configured to receive feedback from the dispensing device on the patient's use of the dispensing device.

20 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the dispending device may only one of transmit or receive data from the medical management system at a predetermined location of the patient.

21 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the dispending device is configured to maintain activity logs to identify one or more of the following: a date and time medication is dispenses, a dosage of the medication dispensed, whether the medical care provider communicated with the dispensing device.
