Abstract

A system and method for providing secondary gaming for fantasy sports to provide more interactive, robust and comprehensive fantasy sports gaming. A secondary game involves one or more fantasy sports players, one or more statistics to measure fantasy performance of the players, one or more time period in which to evaluate the fantasy player, and a game value amount, which is the consideration contested in the fantasy game. Accordingly, Users may place wagers on the expected performance of fantasy players or teams in a fantasy league regardless of whether the party is a participant in the league. The system may be functionally connected to the league software manager to provide real-time registration, submission, monitoring, and submission of second games.

 a conversion criteria relating one or more statistics based on a performance of sports players to fantasy points;
 a time period in which the fantasy sports game is played;
 a first selected sports player or players assigned to the first participant and a second selected sports player or players assigned to the second participant, wherein the first selected sports player or players and the second selected sports player or players are mutually exclusive, and wherein accrual of the fantasy points is based on the performance of the first selected player or players and the second selected player or players in one or more real-life sports events during the time period; and
 a value of consideration placed between the first and second participants for the fantasy sports game;
   establishing access to an electronic data feed of real-life sports data, the electronic data feed providing, to the network server, statistics related to the performance of each of the first selected player or players and the second selected player or players in the one or more real-life sports events during the time period; using a processor of the network server to determine, using the conversion criteria and the statistics provided by the electronic data feed, fantasy points for each of the first and second participants and a winner and a loser of the fantasy sports game as between the first and second participants, based on a comparison of the fantasy points, wherein the winner has more fantasy points than the loser over the time period; generating an electronic alert for transmission to the client device, the electronic alert indicating the determined winner and loser; and automatically reconciling the value of consideration by electronically communicating with the account server to electronically transfer the value of consideration between the loser and the winner.

         19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the electronic data feed provides the statistics to the network server in substantially real-time.

 transmitting the parameters received from the client device of the first participant to a client device of the second participant; providing a second GUI on the client device of the second participant, the second GUI configured for entering acceptance of the parameters by the second participant; receiving, at the network server, confirmation from the client device of the second participant regarding the parameters; registering, on the network server, the fantasy sports game upon receipt of the confirmation from the second participant; and initiating the electronic data feed.

         26 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the client device is a client device of a first participant and wherein the GUI is a first GUI, the method further comprising:
 transmitting the parameters on the network server to a client device of the second participant; providing a second GUI on the client device of the second participant, the second GUI configured for entering amendments to the parameters by the second participant; receiving on the network server a modification to the parameters from the client device of the second participant; transmitting the modified parameters to the client device of the first participant; providing a third GUI on the client device of the first participant, the third GUI configured for entering acceptance of the modified parameters; receiving, at the network server, from the client device of the first participant, acceptance of the modified parameters; registering, on the network server, the fantasy sports game upon receipt of the acceptance of the modified parameters; and initiating the data feed.

         27 . A fantasy sports game system, comprising:
 at least one a network server; a graphical user interface accessible through one or more client devices allowing input to the network server and configured to communicate with the network server; an account server integrated with the network server, the account server having an account for each of two or more participants; a data feed functionally integrated with the network server, the data feed providing measurement data; an electronic game provided through the graphical user interface, the electronic game having a capacity for the two or more participants, each participant having access to the game through the one or more client devices and competing for a mutually exclusive outcome based on a performance of one or more sports players assigned to each participant, wherein each sports player is mutually exclusive to a participant, a winner participant characterized by the one or more sports players assigned to the winner participant having a higher statistical performance among sports players assigned to the two or more participants during a predetermined time period, the game comprising:
 sports players assigned to each participant, sports players correspond to real-life players in one or more sports, assignment of the one or more sports players to each participant is not limited by a requirement to meet a player position requirement, and wherein the statistical performance of each of the one or more sports players during the time period is accrued towards the mutually exclusive outcome;
 measurement data received by the network server from the data feed, the measurement data relating to the statistical performance of each of the one or more fantasy players;
