Abstract
In accordance with an embodiment, an image reading apparatus comprises a conveyance system, a reading section, a movement sensor and a processor. The conveyance system conveys a document in a conveyance route including a reading position. The reading section reads an image on a surface of the document passing through the reading position. The movement sensor detects a conveyance speed of the document conveyed by the conveyance system. In a case in which the conveyance speed of the document detected by the movement sensor differs from a reference speed, if the conveyance speed of the document is within an adjustable range, the processor performs control to adjust a reading processing in response to the conveyance speed of the document.

1 . An image forming apparatus, comprising:
a conveyance system configured to convey a sheet; an image forming section configured to form an image to be printed on the sheet conveyed by the conveyance system; a movement sensor configured to detect a conveyance speed of the sheet conveyed by the conveyance system; and a processor configured to adjust an image forming processing in response to the conveyance speed of the sheet if the conveyance speed of the sheet detected by the movement sensor differs from a reference speed.
2 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein
the image forming section forms an image on an image carrier, the movement sensor detects the conveyance speed of the sheet at a transfer position at which an image formed on the image carrier is transferred onto the sheet, and the processor adjusts timing of transferring an image onto the sheet according to the conveyance speed of the sheet.
3 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein
the image forming section forms an image on the sheet, the movement sensor detects the conveyance speed of the sheet at the image forming position where the image is formed on the sheet, and the processor adjusts a processing of forming the image by the image forming section according to the conveyance speed of the sheet.
4 . The image reading apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein
the processor stops the conveyance system if the conveyance speed of the sheet detected by the movement sensor is beyond the adjustable range.
5 . The image reading apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein
the movement sensor is installed close and upstream side of the reading position in the conveyance route.
6 . The image reading apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein
the movement sensors are installed at a plurality of positions to continuously detect a speed of the sheet in the conveyance route.
7 . An image reading method, comprising:
conveying a sheet in a conveyance route; forming an image to be printed on the sheet conveyed in the conveyance route; detecting a conveyance speed of the sheet conveyed in the conveyance route; and adjusting an image forming processing in response to the conveyance speed of the sheet if the conveyance speed of the sheet detected differs from a reference speed.
8 . The image forming method according to claim 7 , further comprising:
forming an image on an image carrier, detecting the conveyance speed of the sheet at a transfer position while transferring the image formed on the image carrier onto the sheet, and adjusting timing of transferring the image onto the sheet according to the conveyance speed of the sheet.
9 . The image forming method according to claim 7 , further comprising:
forming an image on the sheet, detecting the conveyance speed of the sheet at an image forming position where the image is formed on the sheet, and adjusting a processing of forming the image on the sheet according to the conveyance speed of the sheet.
10 . The image reading method according to claim 7 , further comprising:
