Pictorial mnemonics learning aid systems and methods

Abstract

A system, method and computer program product for providing a learning aid using pictorial mnemonics. The method can include receiving a first input including a selection of a content topic. The method further includes displaying a first pictorial mnemonic associated with the selected topic, wherein the first pictorial mnemonic comprises one or more sub-images, and a list of one or more attributes, wherein each attribute is associated with a corresponding sub-image.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for providing a pictorial mnemonics learning aid, comprising:
 providing a database including a plurality of content topics, the plurality of content topics each assigned one or more image characters and one or more attributes, wherein at least two of the plurality of content topics include a common image character and a common attribute; and   receiving a selection input on a user device associated with at least one of the one or more image characters.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of content topics includes medical content topics. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of content topics includes engineering content topics. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of content topics includes law content topics. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of content topics includes science content topics. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of content topics includes history content topics. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the database is provided remote from the user device. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , further including displaying on the user device one or more of the plurality of content topics. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the common image character is a beaver character and the common attribute is a fever attribute. 
     
     
         10 . A method for providing a pictorial mnemonics learning aid, comprising:
 providing a database including a plurality of content topics, the plurality of content topics each assigned one or more image characters and one or more attributes, wherein at least two of the plurality of content topics include a common image character and a common attribute; and   linking the common image character and the common attribute for association with the at least two of the plurality of content topics.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the plurality of content topics includes medical content topics. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the plurality of content topics includes engineering content topics. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the plurality of content topics includes law content topics. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the plurality of content topics includes science content topics. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the plurality of content topics includes history content topics. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the database is provided remote from the user device. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 10 , further including displaying on the user device one or more of the plurality of content topics. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the common image character is a beaver character and the common attribute is a fever attribute. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the common image character is a cherry eye character and the common attribute is a cherry red macula attribute. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the common image character is a balloon liver and spleen and the common attribute is a hepatosplenomegaly attribute.
