Food cooker

Abstract

A food cooker includes a cook base including a cook base side wall and a fire ring, the cook base side wall being substantially cylindrical, the cook base side wall defining a top edge and a bottom edge, the fire ring defining a flat bottom portion and a circumferential outer wall, the flat bottom portion contacting the bottom edge, the circumferential outer wall extending around a bottom portion of the cook base side wall; and a removable cover including a top and a heat source container, the removable cover contacting the top edge of the cook base side wall, the top facing upwards and opposite from the cook base, the heat source container extending upwards from the top, the heat source container defining a top heat source containment area.

That which is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A food cooker comprising:
 a cook base comprising a cook base side wall and a fire ring, the cook base side wall being substantially cylindrical, the cook base side wall defining a top edge and a bottom edge, the fire ring defining a flat bottom portion and a circumferential outer wall, the flat bottom portion contacting the bottom edge, the circumferential outer wall extending around a bottom portion of the cook base side wall; and   a removable cover comprising a top and a heat source container, the removable cover contacting the top edge of the cook base side wall, the top facing upwards and opposite from the cook base, the heat source container extending upwards from the top, the heat source container defining a top heat source containment area.   
     
     
         2 . The food cooker of  claim 1 , wherein the heat source container is substantially cylindrical. 
     
     
         3 . The food cooker of  claim 1 , wherein a bottom heat source containment area is defined between the bottom portion of the cook base side wall and the fire ring. 
     
     
         4 . The food cooker of  claim 3 , wherein the bottom heat source containment area defines an annular shape, and wherein the bottom heat source containment area is configured to receive charcoal. 
     
     
         5 . The food cooker of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the cook base at least partially defines a food piece containment area; and   the removable cover encloses and seals the food piece containment area when the removable cover is placed in contact with the top edge of the cook base side wall.   
     
     
         6 . The food cooker of  claim 1 , wherein the bottom edge is attached to the flat bottom portion. 
     
     
         7 . The food cooker of  claim 6 , wherein all of the bottom edge is attached and sealed with the flat bottom portion. 
     
     
         8 . The food cooker of  claim 1 , further comprising a main food hanger, the main food hanger comprising:
 a drip pan positioned within the cook base side wall, the drip pan comprising a drip pan side wall attached to a bottom floor, the bottom floor positioned in facing engagement with the flat bottom portion, the drip pan side wall positioned adjacent to the cook base side wall;   a post extending upwards from the bottom floor;   an arm extending outwards from the post towards the cook base side wall; and   a fork attached to the arm opposite from the post, the fork configured to receive and support a food item.   
     
     
         9 . The food cooker of  claim 8 , wherein the main food hanger is removable from the cook base. 
     
     
         10 . The food cooker of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the removable cover further comprises a cover side wall;   the cover side wall is substantially cylindrical;   the cover side wall defines a top edge and a bottom edge;   the top edge of the cover side wall is attached to the top; and   the bottom edge of the cover side wall engages the top edge of the cook base side wall.   
     
     
         11 . A food cooker comprising:
 a cook base comprising a cook base side wall, the cook base side wall defining a top edge and a bottom edge, the cook base at least partially defining a food piece containment area;   a ledge positioned in direct contact with the bottom edge, the ledge further defining the food piece containment area, the ledge comprising a fire ring defining an annular shape, the fire ring extending around the cook base side wall at the bottom edge, the fire ring, the ledge, and the cook base side wall defining an annular heat source containment area configured to receive a bottom heat source; and   a removable cover positioned in contact with the top edge, the removable cover enclosing the food piece containment area.   
     
     
         12 . The food cooker of  claim 11 , wherein the removable cover defines a top heat source containment area configured to receive a top heat source. 
     
     
         13 . The food cooker of  claim 12 , wherein the top heat source containment area is defined by a concave top of the removable cover. 
     
     
         14 . The food cooker of  claim 12 , wherein a heat source container extends upwards from a top of the removable cover, and wherein the top heat source containment area is defined by the heat source container. 
     
     
         15 . The food cooker of  claim 12 , wherein the food piece containment area is isolated from the top heat source containment area and the annular heat source containment area. 
     
     
         16 . The food cooker of  claim 11 , wherein the food piece containment area is fully sealed when the removable cover is positioned in contact with the top edge. 
     
     
         17 . The food cooker of  claim 11 , further comprising a post and a drip pan disposed within the food piece containment area, the post extending upwards from the ledge, the drip pan annularly positioned around the post, the post configured to support a food item within the food piece containment area, the drip pan configured to catch drippings from the food item. 
     
     
         18 . The food cooker of  claim 11 , wherein the bottom edge of the cook base side wall is attached to the ledge. 
     
     
         19 . A method for using a food cooker, the method comprising:
 placing charcoals in a bottom heat source containment area of a cook base, the cook base comprising a cook base side wall and a fire ring, the fire ring comprising a flat bottom portion and a circumferential outer wall, the flat bottom portion attached to a bottom edge of the cook base side wall, the circumferential outer wall extending around a bottom portion of the cook base side wall, the bottom heat source containment area defined between the bottom portion of the cook base side wall and the fire ring;   igniting the charcoals;   placing a food item within a food containment area of the food cooker, the food containment area at least partially defined by the cook base; and   enclosing the food containment area comprising placing a removable cover on a top edge of the cook base side wall.   
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 19 , wherein enclosing the food containment area comprises sealing the food containment area.
