Abstract

The present teaching relates to associating data from different sources to generate a person-centric space. In one example, information related to a person is received. First data is obtained from a first source private to the person based on the information. One or more types of cross-linking keys are identified from the first data. Second data is obtained from at least one second source based on the one or more types of cross-linking keys. The first data is associated with at least a portion of the second data based, at least in part, on the one or more types of cross-linking keys to generate cross-linked data. The person-centric space is generated based on the cross-linked data.

identifying an entity from a received request; obtaining first data from at least one data source included in a private space; determining, in accordance with a model, a domain corresponding to the first data; identifying, based on the domain, one or more cross-linking keys from the first data; determining second data that is to be retrieved from at least one second data source based on the one or more cross-linking keys, wherein the second data source is included in a space that is disjoint from the private space; generating the person-centric space by associating the first data with at least a portion of the second data based on the one or more cross-linking keys; and updating the person-centric space in accordance with a schedule determined based on the at least one data source in the private space.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the schedule is determined based on a type of the at least one data source in the private space from which the first data is obtained.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
extracting one or more entities from the first data; and selecting the one or more cross-linking keys from the one or more entities based on the domain corresponding to the first data.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one second source is one of: a semi-private data source and a public data source.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining an intent of a person based on the request; and generating a card to be presented to the person in response to the request, wherein the card includes the first data that is associated with at least the portion of the second data.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein a type of the card to be presented to the person is determined based on the intent of the person.

7 . A non-transitory, machine-readable medium having information recorded thereon for generating a person-centric space including information relevant to a person, wherein the information, when read by a machine, causes the machine to perform the steps of:
identifying an entity from a received request; obtaining first data from at least one data source included in a private space; determining, in accordance with a model, a domain corresponding to the first data; identifying, based on the domain, one or more cross-linking keys from the first data; determining second data that is to be retrieved from at least one second data source based on the one or more cross-linking keys, wherein the second data source is included in a space that is disjoint from the private space; generating the person-centric space by associating the first data with at least a portion of the second data based on the one or more cross-linking keys; and updating the person-centric space in accordance with a schedule determined based on the at least one data source in the private space.

8 . The medium of claim 7 , wherein the schedule is determined based on a type of the at least one data source in the private space from which the first data is obtained.

9 . The medium of claim 7 , further comprising:
extracting one or more entities from the first data; and selecting the one or more cross-linking keys from the one or more entities based on the domain corresponding to the first data.

10 . The medium of claim 7 , wherein the at least one second source is one of: a semi-private data source and a public data source.

11 . The medium of claim 7 , further comprising:
determining an intent of a person based on the request; and generating a card to be presented to the person in response to the request, wherein the card includes the first data that is associated with at least the portion of the second data.

12 . The medium of claim 11 , wherein a type of the card to be presented to the person is determined based on the intent of the person.

13 . A system for generating a person-centric space including information relevant to a person, the system comprising:
an entity extracting unit implemented by a processor and configured to identify an entity from a received request; an access controller implemented by the processor and configured to obtain first data from at least one data source included in a private space; a domain determining unit implemented by the processor and configured to determine, in accordance with a model, a domain corresponding to the first data; a cross-linking key identification unit implemented by the processor and configured to identify, based on the domain, one or more cross-linking keys from the first data; a second data searching unit implemented by the processor and configured to determine second data that is to be retrieved from at least one second data source based on the one or more cross-linking keys, wherein the second data source is included in a space that is disjoint from the private space; and an associating unit implemented by the processor and configured to:
generate the person-centric space by associating the first data with at least a portion of the second data based on the one or more cross-linking keys, and
update the person-centric space in accordance with a schedule determined based on the at least one data source in the private space.
