Abstract

A polymeric composition includes an organic polymeric substrate and metal-organic frameworks on the surface of the polymeric substrate. The metal-organic frameworks cover at least 90% of the surface area of the polymeric substrate.

1 . A polymeric composition comprising:
 an organic polymeric substrate; and   metal-organic frameworks on the surface of the polymeric substrate, wherein the metal-organic frameworks cover at least 90% of the surface area of the organic polymeric substrate.   
     
     
         2 . The polymeric composition of  claim 1 , wherein the polymeric substrate is a fabric. 
     
     
         3 . The polymeric composition of  claim 1 , wherein the polymeric substrate has a Shore A hardness value between 0 and 90. 
     
     
         4 . The polymeric composition of  claim 1 , wherein the polymeric substrate includes cellulous. 
     
     
         5 . The polymeric composition of  claim 1 , wherein the metal-organic frameworks include CuBTC. 
     
     
         6 . The polymeric composition of  claim 1 , wherein the metal-organic frameworks include CuBTTri. 
     
     
         7 . The polymeric composition of  claim 1 , wherein the metal-organic frameworks cover 95% or greater of the surface of the organic polymeric substrate. 
     
     
         8 . The polymeric composition of  claim 1  wherein the metal-organic frameworks do not degrade when exposed to a physiological fluid. 
     
     
         9 . The polymeric composition of  claim 1  and further comprising a secondary therapeutic agent. 
     
     
         10 . The polymeric composition of  claim 9 , wherein the secondary therapeutic agent is incorporated into the metal-organic frameworks.
