Toy Building Brick System

Abstract

A toy building brick system includes a brick having an upper wall and an outer wall that is attached to and extends downwardly from the upper wall. The outer wall has a bottom edge that is a free edge. The outer wall bounds a receiving space configured to releasably engage a male connector such that the outer wall and the receiving space defines a female connector. The outer wall has a first notch and a second notch therein each extending upwardly from the free edge and to the upper wall. The first and second notches form grips to facilitate removal of the brick from a male connector.

1 . A grippable building brick assembly comprising:
 a brick having an upper wall and an outer wall being attached to and extending downwardly from said upper wall, said outer wall having a bottom edge, said bottom edge being a free edge, said outer wall bounding a receiving space configured to releasably engage a male connector such that said outer wall and said receiving space defines a female connector, said upper wall having a rectangular shape, said rectangular shape having a first edge, a second edge, a third edge and a fourth edge, said first and third edges being positioned opposite of each other; and   said outer wall having a first notch and a second notch therein each extending upwardly from said free edge and to said upper wall, said first and second notches being configured to form grips to facilitate removal of said brick from a male connector, said first notch being positioned adjacent to a first corner formed by said first and second edge, said second notch being positioned adjacent to a second corner formed by said third and fourth edges.   
     
     
         2 . The grippable building brick assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein said first and second notches are positioned opposite of each other.

         5 . The grippable building brick assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein said outer wall includes only two wall corners, said wall corners being positioned opposite of each other. 
     
     
         6 . The grippable building brick assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein said upper wall has an upper surface being entirely planar. 
     
     
         7 . The grippable building brick assembly according to  claim 4 , wherein said upper wall has an upper surface being entirely planar. 
     
     
         8 . A grippable building brick assembly comprising:
 a brick having an upper wall and an outer wall being attached to and extending downwardly from said upper wall, said outer wall having a bottom edge, said bottom edge being a free edge, said outer wall bounding a receiving space configured to releasably engage a male connector such that said outer wall and said receiving space defines a female connector;   said outer wall having a first notch and a second notch therein each extending upwardly from said free edge and to said upper wall, said first and second notches being configured to form grips to facilitate removal of said brick from a male connector, said first and second notches being positioned opposite of each other;   said upper wall having a rectangular shape having a first edge, a second edge, a third edge and a fourth edge wherein said first and third edges are positioned opposite of each other;   said first notch being positioned adjacent to a first corner formed by said first and second edge, said second notch being positioned adjacent to a second corner formed by said third and fourth edges;   said outer wall including only two wall corners, said wall corners being positioned opposite of each other; and   said upper wall having an upper surface being entirely planar.
