Abstract

An apparatus for determining balance compensation includes a platform, sensors and a processor. The platform is configured for a person to stand on the platform. The sensors are coupled to the platform and measure at least one of a weight and a pressure. The processor determines a balance of the person based on the measurements of the sensors.

1 . A balance compensation system, comprising:
 a sensor device configured to measure a measurement value indicating at least one of balance and tremor of a part of a body; and   an information processing device configured to determine and output an information indicating at least one of a size and a placement position of a stimulus to compensate for the at least one of the balance and the tremor based on the measurement value obtained by the sensor device.   
     
     
         2 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 1 , wherein the sensor device is coupled to a part of the body and includes at least one of an accelerometer and a gyro sensor. 
     
     
         3 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 2 , wherein the measurement value indicates at least one of the balance and the tremor in at least one of an anteroposterior direction and a lateral direction of a torso. 
     
     
         4 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 1 , wherein the information processing device is configured to calculate and output the information indicating the at least one of the size and the placement position of the stimulus to compensate for the at least one of the balance and the tremor in a plurality of directions. 
     
     
         5 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 4 , wherein
 the sensor device is configured to measure a plurality of measurement values indicating at least one of a balance and a tremor of a part of a body in a plurality of directions, and   the information processing device is configured to identify a representative value in each direction among the plurality of directions, and to calculate and output the information indicating the at least one of the size and the placement position of the stimulus based on the representative values.   
     
     
         6 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 5 , wherein the information processing device is configured to identify a normal range indicating whether or not the measurement values of the at least one of the balance and the tremor is normal and to determine the representative value based at least in part on one of the measurement value outside of the normal range. 
     
     
         7 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 6 , wherein the measurement value indicates the at least one of the balance and the tremor in at least one of an anteroposterior direction and a lateral direction of a torso, and the normal range in the anteroposterior direction is different from the normal range in the lateral direction. 
     
     
         8 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 5 , further comprising a balance compensating device configured to couple to the part of the body, wherein the stimulus is coupled to the balance compensating device based on the information indicating the at least one of the size and the placement position of the stimulus from the information processing device. 
     
     
         9 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 8 , wherein
 the balance compensating device includes a plurality of areas corresponding to the plurality of directions as the placement position of the stimulus, and   the information processing device is configured to output the information indicating the at least one of the size and the placement position of the stimulus corresponding to at least one of the plurality of areas.   
     
     
         10 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 5 , wherein the representative value corresponds to the at least one of the size and the placement position of the stimulus. 
     
     
         11 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 1 , wherein the sensor device is configured to acquire the measurement value while the body is in movement. 
     
     
         12 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 1 , wherein the at least one of the size and the placement position of the stimulus to compensate for the at least one of the balance and the tremor is dynamically adjusted based on the measurement value. 
     
     
         13 . The balance compensation system according to  claim 1 , further comprising a storage device configured to store information calculated from bodies of at least two persons among a plurality of information determined by the information processing device. 
     
     
         14 . A balance compensation method, comprising:
 attaching a sensor device to at least a part of a body, the sensor device acquiring a measurement value indicating at least one of balance and tremor of the part of the body;   acquiring the measurement value indicating the at least one of the balance and the tremor of the part of the body while standing or moving; and   determining and outputting information indicating at least one of a size and a placement position of a stimulus to compensate for the at least one of the balance and the tremor based on the measurement value obtained by the sensor device.   
     
     
         15 . The balance compensation method according to  claim 14 , wherein
 the sensor device measures the measurement values in a plurality of directions, and   the determined and outputed the information indicating the at least one of the size and the placement position of the stimulus corresponds to at least one of the plurality of directions.   
     
     
         16 . The balance compensation method according to  claim 15 , wherein
 the stimulus is attached to a balance compensating device in at least one of a plurality of areas based on the information indicating the at least one of the size and the placement position of the stimulus, and   the balance compensating device is coupled to the part of the body and includes a plurality of areas corresponding to the plurality of directions as the placement position of the stimulus.   
     
     
         17 . The balance compensation method according to  claim 16 , wherein the acquiring of the measurement includes acquiring the measurement value indicating the at least one of the balance and the tremor in at least one of an anteroposterior direction and a lateral direction of a torso. 
     
     
         18 . The balance compensation method according to  claim 15 , wherein
 the measurement value is obtained a plurality times in a period of time,   a representative value in each of the plurality of directions is determined among the measurement values obtained for the period of time, and   the information indicating the at least one of the size and the placement position of the stimulus is calculated and output is based on the representative value.   
     
     
         19 . The balance compensation method according to  claim 18 , wherein a size of the representative value corresponds to the at least one of the size and the placement position of the stimulus.
