Abstract

A base station (13) is configured to receive, from a Machine-to-machine (M2M) terminal (11) or a core network (14), history information indicating whether or not specific coverage enhancement processing was executed in previous communication with the M2M terminal (11). Further, the base station (13) is configured to control communication using the specific coverage enhancement processing between the M2M terminal (11) and the base station (13) based on the history information received from the M2M terminal (11) or the core network (14). It is thus possible to contribute to improving efficiency of determination regarding whether to apply a special coverage enhancement processing to the M2M terminal.

         11 . A method for an eNodeB, the method comprising:
 performing communication with a User Equipment (UE) performing coverage enhancement;   receiving, from a Mobility Management Entity (MME), an INITIAL CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST message that includes at least one of:
 first information indicating whether the UE is stationary or mobile; 
 second information regarding a power of the UE; and 
 third information indicating a type of communication with the UE; and 
   using the at least one of the first information, the second information and the third information to operate the communication with the UE.   
     
     
         12 . An eNodeB comprising:
 a transceiver configured to perform communication with a User Equipment (UE) performing coverage enhancement;   an S1 interface connected with a Mobility Management Entity (MME); and   a processor configured to:
 receive, from MME via the S1 interface, an INITIAL CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST message that includes at least one of:
 first information indicating whether the UE is stationary or mobile; 
 second information regarding a power of the UE; and 
 third information indicating a type of communication with the UE; and 
 
 use the at least one of the first information, the second information and the third information to operate the communication with the UE. 
   
     
     
         13 . A method for a Mobility Management Entity (MME), the method comprising:
 managing a mobility of a User Equipment (UE) performing coverage enhancement; and   transmitting, to an eNodeB, an INITIAL CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST message that includes at least one of:
 first information indicating whether the UE is stationary or mobile; 
 second information regarding a power of the UE; and 
 third information indicating a type of communication with the UE, 
   wherein the at least one of the first information, the second information and the third information is used by the eNodeB to operate the communication with the UE.   
     
     
         14 . A Mobility Management Entity (MME) comprising:
 an S1 interface connected with an eNodeB; and   a processor configure to:
 manage a mobility of a User Equipment (UE) performing coverage enhancement; and 
 transmit, to the eNodeB via the S1 interface, an INITIAL CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST message that includes at least one of:
 first information indicating whether the UE is stationary or mobile; 
 second information regarding a power of the UE; and 
 third information indicating a type of communication with the UE, 
 
   wherein the at least one of the first information, the second information and the third information is used by the eNodeB to operate the communication with the UE.
