Abstract
Systems, devices, and methods are provided for the control of interfacing between applications that facilitate the monitoring of diabetes running on a mobile device, including the authentication of a third party user interface application by a sensor interface application. Control of the display of current analyte levels and critical events is also provided.

16 . A method of monitoring an analyte level of a human, the method comprising:
receiving data, at a reader device, from a sensor control device comprising an in vivo analyte sensor, wherein the reader device includes a first application downloaded and installed thereon and a different second application downloaded and installed thereon, wherein the first application is a sensor interface application and the second application is a user interface application; determining whether the user interface application is authorized to access the data indicative of the analyte level of a human; if authorized, granting access to the data indicative of the analyte level of the human; communicating the data indicative of the analyte level of the human to the user interface application; and causing, by the user interface application, display of the analyte level of the human on a display of the reader device.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the reader device is a smart phone.
18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising transmitting a request for raw analyte data from the smart phone to the sensor control device.
19 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising receiving, by the smart phone, raw analyte data from the sensor control device, wherein the received raw analyte data comprises a temperature reading.
20 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising using, by the smart phone, the temperature reading to correct or compensate the analyte level.
21 . The method of claim 20 , wherein the smart phone receives the raw analyte data from the sensor control device according to the NFC protocol.
22 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the user interface application, when executed by at least one processor of the reader device, causes the at least one processor to:
process a user-initiated request for a current analyte measurement; and inform the sensor interface application that a sensor request needs to be performed.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the first application, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the at least one processor to:
generate the sensor request; and cause the sensor request to be transmitted to the sensor control device.
24 . The method of claim 16 , wherein determining whether the user interface application is authorized to access the data indicative of an analyte level of the human comprises:
determining, by reference to a registration database, whether the user interface application is authorized.
25 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising:
receiving an indication, at the sensor interface application, that access of the user interface application to the data representative of the analyte level of the human should be removed; and removing access of the user interface application to the data representative of the analyte level of the human.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
