Abstract
A fault processing method, a related apparatus, and a computer. When it is determined that a computer crashes, a baseboard management controller in the computer can send a read request message to a processor in the computer, where the read request message is used for requesting reading of error data recorded by the processor, receive a read response message returned by the processor, and obtain, according to the read response message, the error data recorded by the processor. By means of the embodiments of the present invention, an operating system does not need to be used, acquisition of error data in a computer after the computer crashes is implemented using a baseboard management controller, and a problem in the prior art that error data in a computer cannot be acquired after a severe uncorrectable error occurring in the computer causes a system crash is resolved.

1 . A computer, comprising:
a processor; and a baseboard management controller coupled to the processor, wherein the processor is configured to trigger an indication to notify the baseboard management controller that the computer crashes by changing a level of a pin CATEER_N or ERROR_N; the baseboard management controller is configured to receive the indication by receiving a level signal from the pin CATEER_N or ERROR_N, and send a read request message to the processor when the computer crashes, wherein the read request message is used for requesting reading of error data recorded by the processor; the processor is further configured to receive the read request message, and send a read response message to the baseboard management controller; and, the baseboard management controller is further configured to receive the read response message returned by the processor, and obtain, according to the read response message, the error data recorded by the processor.
2 . The computer according to claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to trigger a system management interrupt, SMI, when acquiring error data in the computer to execute an error collection instruction of a basic input output system.
3 . The computer according to claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to trigger a severe fault event indication to notify the baseboard management controller that a catastrophic error or a fatal error occurs in the computer.

The computer according to claim 1 , wherein when the read response message carries a read failure indication, the baseboard management controller is configured to provide instruction for performing a warm reboot on the computer, wherein the read failure indication is used for indicating that the error data fails to be read from the processor,
wherein, during the warm reboot of the computer, the processor is configured to execute a fault collection instruction of the basic input output system of the computer, acquire the error data according to the fault collection instruction of the basic input output system, and send the error data to the baseboard management controller, and wherein, the baseboard management controller is configured to receive the error data sent by the processor.
5 . The computer according to claim 3 , wherein the baseboard management controller is further configured to: after the severe fault event indication sent by the processor is received, send an alarm message to perform a printing operation, and to notify a user of the severe fault alarm event.
6 . The computer according to claim 1 , wherein the baseboard management controller is further configured to parse the error data according to a fault parsing mechanism, and to obtain fault parsing information of the error data.
7 . The computer according to claim 6 , wherein the baseboard management controller is further configured to analyze the fault parsing information of the error data according to a preset fault processing mechanism, and to obtain a fault processing suggestion.
8 . The computer according to claim 7 , wherein the baseboard management controller is further configured to print the fault parsing information of the error data or the fault processing suggestion.
9 . The computer according to claim 6 , wherein the baseboard management controller is further configured to save at least one of the fault parsing information of the error data and the error data in a fault information base of the computer.
10 . A fault processing method, comprising:
triggering, by a processor of a computer, an indication to notify a baseboard management controller of the computer that the computer crashes by changing a level of a pin ERROR_N or CATEER_N; receiving, by the baseboard management controller, the indication by receiving a level signal from the pin ERROR_N or CATEER_N sending, by the baseboard management controller, a read request message to the processor, wherein the read request message is used for requesting reading of error data recorded by the processor; receiving, by the baseboard management controller, a read response message returned by the processor, and obtaining, according to the read response message, the error data recorded by the processor.
11 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein the method further comprises:
triggering, by the processor, a system management interrupt, SMI, when acquiring error data in the computer to execute an error collection instruction of a basic input output system.
12 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein the receiving, by the baseboard management controller, a read response message returned by the processor, and obtaining, according to the read response message, the error data recorded by the processor comprises:
when the read response message carries a read failure indication, providing, by the baseboard management controller, instruction for performing a warm reboot on the computer, wherein, during the warm reboot of the computer, executing, by the processor, a fault collection instruction of a basic input output system of the computer, acquires the error data according to the fault collection instruction of the basic input output system, and sends the error data to the baseboard management controller, wherein the read failure indication is used for indicating that the error data fails to be read from the processor; and receiving, by the baseboard management controller, the error data sent by the processor.
13 . A computer readable medium, comprising a computer executable instructions, so that when a processor of a computer executes the computer executable instructions, the computer performs the fault processing method according to claim 10 .
14 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises:
triggering, by the processor, a system management interrupt, SMI, when acquiring error data in the computer to execute an error collection instruction of a basic input output system.
15 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the triggering, by the processor, an indication to notify the baseboard management controller of that that the computer crashes comprises:
triggering, by the processor, a severe fault event indication, to notify the baseboard management controller of that a catastrophic error or a fatal error occurs in the computer.
16 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the receiving, by the baseboard management controller, a read response message returned by the processor, and obtaining, according to the read response message, the error data recorded by the processor comprises:
when the read response message carries a read failure indication, providing, by the baseboard management controller, instruction for performing a warm reboot on the computer, wherein, during the warm reboot of the computer, executing, by the processor, a fault collection instruction of a basic input output system of the computer, acquires the error data according to the fault collection instruction of the basic input output system, and sends the error data to the baseboard management controller, wherein the read failure indication is used for indicating that the error data fails to be read from the processor; and receiving, by the baseboard management controller, the error data sent by the processor.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
