Abstract
A modular shelving system may include a plurality of configurable components and methods of forming configuration assemblies from such components. The configuration assemblies of the modular shelving system may be paired with and coupled to other shelving units and/or furniture.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A modular shelving system comprising:
a first linked shelving assembly comprising:
a frame having a top panel and a first side panel coupled thereto;
wherein the first side panel includes an inner surface and an outer surface, the first side panel disposed between the first linked shelving assembly and an adjacent second linked shelving assembly such that the inner surface encloses the first linked shelving assembly on a first side and the outer surface encloses at least a portion of the adjacent second linked shelving assembly on one side.
2 . The modular shelving system of claim 1 , wherein the top panel of the first linked shelving assembly includes a first end and a second end, the first end and the second end customized to flushly abut a frame of an adjacent second linked shelving assembly to create a continuous look.
3 . The modular shelving system of claim 1 , further comprising a first top shelf cap and a second top shelf cap, each top shelf cap coupled to opposing ends of the modular shelving system flushly abutting the top panel to create a continuous look among the modular shelving system.
4 . The modular shelving system of claim 1 , wherein the first linked shelving assembly further comprises at least one shelf coupled to the frame below the top panel.
5 . The modular shelving system of claim 4 , wherein the at least one shelf is selected from the group comprising:
horizontal shelf, semi-horizontal shelf, inclined shelf, tilted shelf, two tiered shelf, multiple tiered shelf, display shelf, bookshelf, electronic media display support platform, electronic media organization shelf, desk and table.
6 . The modular shelving system of claim 1 , wherein the first linked shelving assembly further comprises a second side panel coupled to the frame opposite the first side panel, the second side panel having an inner surface and an outer surface;
wherein the inner surface encloses the first linked shelving assembly on a second side and the outer surface includes a bracket coupled thereto to support and secure an electronic media device against the outer surface.
7 . The modular shelving system of claim 1 , wherein the first linked shelving assembly further comprises a display support panel coupled to the frame and disposed substantially perpendicularly to the top panel;
wherein the display support panel includes a bracket coupled thereto to receive and support an electronic media device coupled to the display support panel.
8 . The modular shelving system of claim 1 , wherein the frame of the first linked shelving assembly further comprises a wire management system that receives, routes, organizes, secures and stores wires, cables, and other electronic accessories from an electronic media device supported and secured by the first linked shelving assembly.
9 . A modular shelving system comprising:
a first linked shelving assembly; a second linked shelving assembly; and a seating platform having a first end and a second end; wherein the first linked shelving assembly comprises a frame having a top panel, a first side panel, having an inner surface and an outer surface, and a second side panel, having an inner surface and an outer surface, coupled thereto such that the inner surface of the first side panel and the inner surface of the second side panel encloses opposing sides of the first linked shelving assembly; wherein a second linked shelving assembly comprises a frame having a top panel, a first side panel, having an inner surface and an outer surface, and a second side panel, having an inner surface and an outer surface coupled thereto such that the inner surface of the first side panel and the inner surface of the second side panel encloses opposing sides of the second linked shelving assembly.
10 . The modular shelving system of claim 9 , wherein the first end of the seating platform includes at least one fastening mechanism to join the seating platform to the frame of the first linked shelving assembly such that the first end of the seating platform flushly abuts the outer surface of the first side panel of the first linked shelving assembly.
11 . The modular shelving system of claim 10 , wherein the at least one fastening mechanism is selected from the group comprising:
hook and eye fastener, tab and slot fastener, pin and clip attachment, screw and socket attachment, ball and socket attachment, and male and female coupling adapters.
12 . The modular shelving system of claim 10 , wherein the second end of the seating platform includes at least one leg to provide independent structural support to the seating platform.
13 . The modular shelving system of claim 12 , further comprising a first top shelf cap and a second top shelf cap, the first top shelf cap coupled to the frame of the first linked shelving assembly above the first side panel, and the second top shelf cap coupled to the frame of the second linked shelving assembly above the first side panel.
14 . The modular shelving system of claim 10 , wherein the second end of the seating platform includes at least one fastening mechanism to join the seating platform to the frame of the second linked shelving assembly such that the second end of the seating platform flushly abuts the outer surface of the first side panel of the second linked shelving assembly.
15 . The modular shelving system of claim 14 , wherein the at least one fastening mechanism is selected from the group comprising:
hook and eye fastener, tab and slot fastener, pin and clip attachment, screw and socket attachment, ball and socket attachment, and male and female coupling adapters.
16 . The modular shelving system of claim 14 , further comprising a first top shelf cap and a second top shelf cap, the first top shelf cap coupled to the frame of the first linked shelving assembly above the second side panel, and the second top shelf cap coupled to the frame of the second linked shelving assembly above the second side panel.
17 . The modular shelving system of claim 10 , further comprising a heat rest disposed above the seating platform, the head rest including at least one fastening mechanism to join the head rest to the frame of the first linked shelving assembly such that the head rest engages the outer surface of the first side panel of the first linked shelving assembly.
18 . The modular shelving system of claim 17 , wherein the at least one fastening mechanism is selected from the group comprising:
hook and eye fastener, tab and slot fastener, pin and clip attachment, screw and socket attachment, ball and socket attachment, and male and female coupling adapters.
19 . The modular shelving system of claim 9 , wherein the outer surface of the second side panel of the first linked shelving assembly further comprises a bracket coupled thereto to support and secure an electronic media device against the outer surface.
20 . The modular shelving system of claim 9 , wherein the outer surface of the first side panel of the second linked shelving assembly further comprises a bracket coupled thereto to support and secure an electronic media device against the outer surface.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
