Package with Auxiliary Container Lid
Abstract
The present subject matter is directed towards a packaging container comprising at least one sheet of a packaging material defining a closed cross-section and open at an operative top end and an operative bottom end thereof. At least two flaps are provided at the operative top end and the operative bottom end of the at least one sheet, wherein the at least two flaps are sealable to each other to define an interior space for containing edible items therein. An auxiliary lid is provided on one of the operative top end and the operative bottom end, wherein the auxiliary lid is configured to snugly fit on one of the operative top end and the operative bottom end subsequent to the unsealing of the at least two flaps, thereby preventing ingress of air and other foreign matter into the interior space.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A packaging container comprising:
at least one sheet of a packaging material defining a closed cross-section and open at an operative top end and an operative bottom end thereof; at least two flaps provided at said operative top end and said operative bottom end of said at least one sheet, said at least two flaps being sealable to each other to define an interior space for containing edible items therewithin; and an auxiliary lid provided on one of said operative top end and said operative bottom end, said auxiliary lid configured to snugly fit on one of said operative top end and said operative bottom end subsequent to the unsealing of said at least two flaps, thereby preventing ingress of air and other foreign matter into said interior space.
2 . The packaging container as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said auxiliary lid comprises a foam insert affixed to an inner periphery of said auxiliary lid for facilitating snug fitment of said auxiliary lid on said operative top end or said operative bottom end.
3 . The packaging container as claimed in claim 2 , wherein said auxiliary lid comprises a base wall and sidewalls extending from said base wall.
4 . The packaging container as claimed in claim 3 , wherein said foam insert is a strip extending along a periphery defined by the inner surfaces of said sidewalls.
5 . The packaging container as claimed in claim 3 , wherein said foam insert is a sheet affixed to a periphery defined by the inner surfaces of said base wall and said sidewalls.
6 . An auxiliary lid for covering a packaging box subsequent to the opening of said packaging box, said auxiliary lid comprising:
a base wall; at least one sidewall extending from said base wall and defining a profile complementary to that of said packaging box for fitting on an operative top end or an operative bottom end of said packaging box; and a foam insert affixed to an inner periphery of said auxiliary lid for facilitating a snug fitment of said auxiliary lid on said packaging box, thereby preventing ingress of air and other foreign matter in said packaging box.
7 . The auxiliary lid as claimed in claim 6 , wherein said base wall has a rectangular profile.
8 . The auxiliary lid as claimed in claim 7 , wherein said auxiliary lid comprises four sidewalls extending from each edge of said base wall.
9 . The auxiliary lid as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said base wall and said sidewalls are formed by performing folding or bending operation on a single sheet of a packaging material.
10 . The auxiliary lid as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said base wall and said sidewalls are discrete individual elements that are adjoined together to form said auxiliary lid.
11 . The auxiliary lid as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said foam insert is a strip extending along an inner periphery defined by the inner surfaces of said four sidewalls.
12 . The auxiliary lid as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said foam insert is a sheet affixed to an inner periphery defined by the inner surfaces of said four sidewalls and said base wall.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
